After reading alot of the main threads on this board, I've realized that I really know nothing about nutrition!! :(

So I threw this together with the help from a couple of threads from Jodi (thanks :)) and wondered what you guys thought?

Meal #1 (when I get back from working out) - 2 hardboiled eggs and some whole grain toast.

Meal #2 - A protein shake.

Meal #3 - Some salad and a tuna or turkey sandwich

Meal #4 - A protein shake again.

Meal #5 - Either grilled chicken breast or fish with some frozen veggies, with some cottage cheese.

All of these meals will be about 3 hours apart. As for snacks, I like apples, bananas, celery with PB, and peanuts.

Also, what are your guys thoughts on milk, cheese and yogurt?? I always thought those were healthy but I'm not seeing any real good things about it.

Thanks to anybody who reads this and any comments are appreciated!

You need to eat before your workout. DO NOT GO TO THEY GYM ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. Also, you will need more eggs than that. Add in some eggwhites. You need 1.5-2G protein per pound of BW divided by each meal

Meal #2 - A protein shake.

This meal will need some carbs because you are coming back from they gym

Meal #3 - Some salad and a tuna or turkey sandwich

Where are the EFA's?

Meal #4 - A protein shake again.

Carbs and EFA's

Meal #5 - Either grilled chicken breast or fish with some frozen veggies, with some cottage cheese.

All of these meals will be about 3 hours apart. As for snacks, I like apples, bananas, celery with PB, and peanuts.

Skip the bananas and don't just snack - make it a meal

No cheese, save for cottage cheese, no yogurt. You can buy the L/C FF Hood Carb Countdown Milk. It only has 3G sugar and 12G protein

and dude are you counting macros @ all? you have some good foods in there. but i think you need to eat a lot more.

If you cutting, can you have the Low Carb milk?

Jodi - Thanks for the great response!! It looks like I have a little bit more reading to do on EFA'S , but as for the carbs, if I ate an apple with that shake would that be enough?? Also is that eggs and toast meal a good one for before the gym?? I've been going to the gym on an empty stomach every day, but I'm definately going to take your word for it. :)

sentricyphen - Not sure what counting macros means... macros to me is something you put in a computer report! lol I'll do a search though.

sara - I'm not cutting I'm actually trying to bulk up first then go into cutting. How much does your diet have to change from one to the other?

gwcaton - Thanks, I'm learning slowly but surely. Love reading this stuff though so soon enough hopefully I will be helping people and giving back to the forums.

Once again thanks everyone!

THIS IS.... THE REMIX

Meal #1 - BEFORE I work out. A couple of these delicious sounding pancakes I got from your recipes section.
Which includes:
6 whites
1/2 c oats
lotsa cinnamon and splenda

Meal #2 - Tuna, turkey, or salmon sandwich with an apple. If I'm eating the tuna or the turkey I'll also eat a few almonds with it.

Meal #3 - Salad with either chopped up chicken breast or eggs, and maybe some flaxseed suppliments?? (I'm kinda running out of places to find EFA's  )

Meal #4 - Protein shake, some almonds, and some celery.

Meal #5 - Either chicken breast or fish with some frozen veggies and some cottage cheese.

Am I doing better??

it just means you are counting your overall calories, and doing so by counting grams of protein/carbs/fat

Man, I don't know how some of you people can conceive eating so little food, haha...

Peace.
