She's a green cheek conure. She was weened about 2 weeks ago.

I would say that I likem young but Butterfly is older than I am. Hmmmm.

Day three and she's already spoiled. She wanted to sleep on me last night and not in the cage.

I can see some really bad habits coming up from that last statement....ermm...Fade......why do you make Butterfly sleep in a cage?!! Or shouldnt we go there??????

So what will the first word be.... ? We had a bird like that once that someone gave us and all she would say was Spanish swear words

Prince, I'd like to see your African Grey bird. We saw a real smart one in Aruba and I'm curious to see if it's the same kind....

You do not even need to "teach" Greys how to talk, the little smarties just learn it all on thier own!

African Grey's are considered the smartest and best talkers in the Parrot family. They are the most breed bird in the US.

they can be difficult though...they're just like little 3 year old kids.

basically they just do what they want, and no matter how many times you tell them not to do something, they keep doing it.

African Greys average $1000 - $1200 plus another $500 for a decent cage.

We went to a bird convention and most of the birds were obviously not in the best of shape. But there was this one guy who's birds looked very healthy and happy. He was going to sell us a baby grey and one of those big metal cages for $900!!!

Although I did agree that was a great price, we didn't buy either.

I would be skeptical of that. I bought a California cage that cost me over $500 with accessories, and I paid $1000 for my Grey directly from a in town breeder. I don't see how anyone could sell a "healthy" Grey that cheap with a cage.

We were surprised at how cheap the California Cages were at the show... the big ones were $250-$400 and Petco carries them for twice that minimum.

This was a breeder too. It was a wholesale convention. Prices were low.
Although some breeders had prices that were too high.

I tend to get the hyacinth in trouble. He likes to escape his area in the furniture store to see me. Then bites the hell out of his caretaker when she tries to take him away from me.
