Alright, just wanted to share with those who know me the latest development in my life.
Lisa has been working as an Admin assistant and Director of the Arts at this seminary where she is also graduating and receiving her Masters this semester. She HATES her job. She went to Carnagie Mellon for Theatre and that is her passion. However, in the Christian community The arts and creativity doesn't really jive well with the Church. Yeah sure, the crappy art stuff that's all about praise Jesus the church likes but nothing really truly creative and true to life w/o compromise.
There is a Church that is all old people (like 15 members) that has saved over $2 million dollars. They turned all this money over to a group of Trustees and told them to "replant" the church since they were dying. They seen some of Lisa's performances and got the idea that maybe she could do something with the Church.
Long story short, Lisa is going to start a new Church there that focuses on The Arts. That's everything from music to theatre to writing to dance...whatever! If it's creative it'll be allowed. There will be artists teaching others there and all. The worship services will not be traditional or even like contemporary services but everything will focus on expressing and experiencing God through the Arts. This is something she's wanted to do her entire life. And the Church is huge with a very nice school across the street that also belongs to the church and will be Lisa's.
They will be paying her $30,000 MORE than she makes now. Also there is a house that belongs to the Church and we will move in there next May, until then they are adding and extra $1,700 to her paycheck for housing. Very exciting. Now I can quit my job!!! LOL.
