Instructor Brown? I can't place a name or a face, maybe I don't want to. I only remember one of them well named Rob. Only reason I remember him is because he would sleep 2 hours a night, party all night, workout with us, take a noon nap and then workout in the evening and then party, sleep 2 hours. I was blown away that he could get by with that little of sleep.

Yeah, he was in the Great Lakes around 98' time frame. Other instructors at the time were Duel and Danse (not sure on the exact spelling any more). I just remember that Danse was there after screwing his buddies wife and then marrying her or some shit while he was out on det. Which is why Instructor Buchanan was a prick in BUD/S, and eventually led to him getting 3 DUIs and getting thrown out I assume. I'd be pissed too if my buddy stole my wife (or was it gf?).

Yeh, probably there at a different time than I was. I know LAM was there waaay before me, cause he's got a few years on me I think.

Theres not much you can do when a SEAL is fucking your wife.. I wouldnt pull a gun on him, thats for sure.. I think,"Beating his ass" is out of the question too.. I guess you could go make them dinner.. and cook his steak as well done instead of the medium he prefers. :evil2:

They were both SEALs.

Wait.. So Danse stole Buchanan's wife? I figured they were two seperate incidents.. Still, The fact that they didnt try to kill each other only further proves my point.. Even the biggest badasses dont fuq with a SEAL. :p

Actually, they did beat the shit out of each other. They were best friends before... but after that they put Buchanan on West coast teaching BUD/S, and Danse on East coast (at the Great Lakes) doing training there. Didn't want them to kill each other.

So the rumors go of course, but thats how I was told it.

Eggs, you forgot to mention that one guy died when you were in SEAL training boot camp. Oh, and I won't run away with any other SEAL, so you don't have to worry about beating anyone up :p :heartpump

Well, that was just mostly bad luck. And I was never a SEAL, but I'm glad you aren't going to run off with any :p Cause I kinda like ya :heartpump

:D

I was there the bone chilling winter of '96, Duel sounds familiar, then again I can't remember half the guy's I spent 6 month's working night and day with while on deployment:confused: I have bad name memory but I can picture faces which is probably why characters from my past always pop up in my dreams...

Yeah, 96 was pretty chilly from what I remember. 97 got pretty cold too, remember shoveling those sidewalks in boot camp?

Duel was a taller guy with a big mustache. Acted pretty hardcore. Not to be mixed up with Brown, who was a bit shorter, had a smaller mustache, and from what I heard had just come from Dev Group. Brown was definitely a few bricks short of a load though upstairs. He'd call me when I was working at the pool and tell me to do push-ups until he got there. Then the bastard wouldn't come in to work so I'd just be chilling there until I realized what I dumbass I was.

I got out of BC prior to the snow, I was chillin in A school, best friends with my section leader so I never stood watch, shoveled snow, etc. I had all the free time to workout and play around:grin: In fact I was the brains in BC so I never stood watch then cause the Instructors wanted me to be sharp so I could tutor the slower guys and when I got to my ship radiomen didn't have to stand regular watches in port except for my last 2 month's which I left soon after so I only stood pier watch twice.

How did you prove you had brain in boot camp I have always been curious about that? Like what came up that you knew better than the rest and became labeled as smart.

70% of it is class work, I was Navy not Air Force thats Albob:D

If you could do the simple tasks that were put in front of you daily....make your bed look nice, align your shoes under your bed, march in step and not be a spectacle, you would usually do fine.

Boot camp is pretty much a joke. Nobody should worry about it too much.

It isnt just you anyways, the quality of alot of your time in Boot Camp will depend on the quality of the rest of your division. If they suck, the time could be crappy. If they are half intelligent and pretty physically fit, then it will be alot better.

Hopefully you arent in in a mixed division... we had half males and half females in ours, and I swear I had to carry some of those hos around when we were running. We didn't win a thing in bootcamp, but it was still a good time sometimes.

It's not easy when your division is going for it's 3rd or fourth consecutive CNO flag plus our Chief RDC was highly decorated and wanted us to be the same way. We got very little sleep, did you know that they now require the recruits to get 8 hours of sleep now? I remember doing drills until 10:00, showering getting to bed at 11:00 and then waking at 4:00 so we could PT some of the fat boys, before getting back to the ship to practice folding clothes.

Yeah, I've heard about the changes. Ah well, not that it was so much different than before.

Both of the guys in charge of my division had won lots of shit before, and they thought my division was going to do okay originally, but after about a week they realized they were dealing with idiots and the physically impaired. Needless to say, they didn't appreciate it.

Shit I just read that they don't even have service week anymore! What the fuck! Oh well I guess that extra week of training is more important, mine was cake anyways, I worked the tiger cage we had to unload a couple trucks a day, sweep the store room and then the staff would tell us to hide some place and sleep until another truck would come in.

Well, my service week was hard work, but it was the best time I had in boot. My friend and I sent over to another division for training. In the end, we actually got to pick who we wanted in the division... we chose only those with high ASVAB scores and good physical fitness, and of course they had to be cool. Was alot more than mentoring to tell you the truth. Anyways, that division ended up being hot shit, they took it all.

I kicked a guy out in the picking phase when he lost his jacket, then we went to walk outside and the dumbass had lost his ballcap. So I told him he was done and to go rejoin the rest of the idiots. Didn't need somebody that would drag the rest down.

Still not sure why Div commanders gave us so much play room, but being that they didn't even show up some morning, I think it was because they were out drinking and partying and knew we'd take care of it. I'm pretty surprised we didn't get busted for some of the crap we pulled.

Come on, you know damn well that any one in the Navy is going to take every chance they get to slack off, service week was the RDC's vacation time. One had morning reveille duty and the other had night taps duty and that was it, they skated the rest of the time.

Oh yeah, the RDCs of my division... but I'm talking about the RDCs of the division that I was mentoring. Those RDCs should have been forming up their division and getting it squared away, but hey, I can't blame them for being out and smacking the bootie instead.
