I have not been lifting for a few months and I am starting to lift again this time I want to do it for power can someone give me any advise for a three day work out to start out with .:hmmm:

Do you prefer total body workouts, or split routines?

In terms of splits, the most common are push-pull-legs, the antagonistic split, and an upper-lower split.

Push is chest, anterior/lateral delts, and triceps. Pull is back, posterior delts, and biceps. Legs are legs.

The antagonistic split calls for you to switch the place of chest and back in the previously mentioned split.

An upper-lower split just rotates between upper and lower body workouts. With a 3 day split, you will alternate between hitting the upper and lower body twice in the same week.

My favorite is a full body routine. The level of conditioning is great, you don't have to worry so much about which exercises target what muscles, and if you miss a workout you don't get thrown off track quite so badly. Not to mention your muscles are less fatigued for each movement you do.

Do what suits you best. Just make sure you stick to the freeweight compound stuff until you build back your support base of musculature to the fullest.
