Up until now I've have a spotter and it's been very helpful in me getting bigger. Anyways, I no longer have one so how can I get the same or almost same workout that I would get if I still had one? What I mean is that when I use a spotter I can workout long enough to get my muscles so they've exploded. (really big) When I workout without a spotter I can't do it. It's like my strength goes before my muscle gets even a half ass workout lol. The only thing I can think of doing is reducing the weight a bit each set. If this is how, would I still only do 3 sets total or keep going for as long as I can?

I've been doing 3 sets of 4 - 8 reps on all my exercises.

Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

Do you hit every set to failure? Sounds like you do and also are doing forced reps....not good to do all the time, but once and a while it's fine.

When you put it that way, I guess I do lol :P I guess I should probably reduce the weight a bit and go for a few extra reps.

I see guys in the gym benching 185 and they get 2-3 reps then their buddy helps them do 4-5 more reps.....and they do this every set. I just don't get that type of lifting.....and it is always the small guys doing it.

When I was bench crazy at 19, I would put on 315 and do sets of 6, I would only get 6 the first 2 sets...then force the last two sets with help. Once I got it for 3 sets I moved it up to 325, well I got my 400 bench before I turned 20 but then tore a muscle and lost it for about 1/2 year. Forced reps can be good but be carefull.....If you train that way make sure to take a week off every 6-8 weeks or do a light day ( drop to 75% and do the same reps) once every 3-4 weeks. And dont train each muscle 2x a week that way.
