Hey ya'll,
I'm looking for some suggestions on a peice of cardio equipment I can use in my apartment that I may can make or pick up for a few bucks. Anything is really fine as long as I can do HIIT with it. I've never been much of a runner, and the roads around here give me shin splints,so thats outta the question. My schedule has changed so I my gym isn't open when I want to do cardio in the morning, and I need a solution. Any ideas may help, just need to get my early mornin burn goin on.
:hot:

Cross Trainer, Stationary Bike, Heavy bag, jump rope.

Get 1 of each for variation :jacks: :2punch:

If you can't afford them all, try a cross trainer as they are good on your knees, and also burn calories like crazy. Wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up a jump rope too, and just warm up with it, or do some HIIT with it.

you could try fuccing alot... :bulb:

but if you can't do that then hit up a track nearby, I am sure you could find one close by and really nothing at home is gonna come close, plus why spend way too much money on a bunch of useless home equipment. fucc that shit, sprint workouts are great

my fav. ardio pieces (esp. with those that have shin splints and can't do impact type aerobcs) are the versa climber and the rower because they engage your entire body where as the bike does not. I find them both to be an amazing workout for either HIIT or long duration and terribly brutal.

The cheapest pieces of equipment you can get that take up the least amount of space are a good pair of running sneakers and a jump rope.

You can do sprints with your sneakers either around your block (sprint the short sides, recover on the long sides), and you can do intervals with the jump rope right in your living room.

What ever happened to calisthenics????

Jumping jacks, pushups, torso twists, lunges, squat-thrusts....
Any football players got advice?

Here...

Do A set of 50 reps of each of the exercises shown above, without stopping...
(You should be tired)

If you have Shin-Splintz... Walk instead

Or get better shoes.... I'm old... but these absorbed all the pain from my knees, arches, and hips!!...

Jump rope hands down, you can simply jump or do high knee jog in place. A guy in my neighborhood often runs while jumping rope and at intersections and stoplights I see him run high knee sprints in place.

Isn't jumping rope a little high impact though? He said running on the roads give him splints so I would think jumping rope would too, but I rarely do it. Does anyone get splints from jumping rope, or am I just crazy (which is very possible)?

It's possible, but... It is a different motion beacause you land on your toes, not your heels, there is no back to front weight shift.

I think you're right. Like I said, I rarely do it, so I didn't even think of that.

This is a good idea, just go and run on one of the high school or local college tracks. Take that $ and invest it for when you're old.

Well that's something I wo uldn't have thought was ever invented... I wonder if they sell weighted shoes to wear whilst you jump...
