*** New Years Resolutions ***

Me and the wife resolve to save money. We spend WAAAAAY too much of our money on "stuff." Vacations, bikes, weekend trips, etc. We need to save money and buy a house.

As far as me personally, I'd like to become a little more consistent with my workouts. I am in a good groove right now, but I tend to fall off the wagon a little too easily. I've been working out for six years, and I have missed at least one month of training in each of those years. I'd like 2003 to be the first year I stick with it for 12 months straight.

OK...I've been thinking about becoming celibate for a while now.........NO JUST FUCKING KIDDING...but I have been thinking about this for a while....and I think I'm gonna make a resolution out of it. :D

First Let me preface it two ways:

IM is my home.......I love spending my time here, I come here for friendship, humor, information, to help and be helped by people, to coach w8....and basically relax and have fun. You see there is not much fun in my life. So when the drama level is low here, nothing kicks ass as much as IM, NOTHING comes close! :thumb:

Different train of thought........around this time of year...many years ago...I use to hang out in Mexico, deep deep in Mexico.......from the Fiesta de Guadalupe (Dec 12th)....to Christmas I have never been in a place with more brotherly and sisterly Love in my life. You see, there is a priority there........ God (susbsitute if you need to) comes first, FAMILY comes second....Nothing....and I mean NOTHING else comes close......money, work, commerce...etc. I have heard some things have changed.....but I have never seen a gr8er sense of FAMILY in my life. That will always be in my mind. :D

So where I am going with this.........and it's not gonna mean big changes......but almost two months ago (Nov 1)...I promised my family I would spend more time with them...and less on the puter. And I did that for a while (found TV mindless too), but being the IM addict I am (and many here are)....I find myself gradually on the puter more and more during "Family Time"...I don't regret that, it's fun and friendly here.........I'll just have to be here on my own time, I guess...

So while I'll still intend to be here, A LOT.....I'm taking a cue from Leslie, J'Bo and a few former members....at the same time, trying to consider my promise and my family more and bring balance to everything. I guess my resolution is for "more family time"......fuck I hope TV improves! :D :p

Hell, I've been trying!! I'll take it any way I can!

My resolutions:

1. To get more muscles! EAT MORE PROTEIN!!!!!! Thats my goal!
2. Save our money!! Going to start building our new home at the end of march!!!
3. To be a good wife!

I'm gonna resolve to go out and get myself:

- A bigger, leaner body
- A smarter, and more confident mind
- And a new girlfriend with bigger boobs

:D

Mine is to move on with my life. Build me a house for my son and I get over my ex wife. And continue going to the gym to better myself

new years resolution

mine is prob. to be so buff by this summer that girls can't resist and then i get some. because at a certain point hormones take over and they acn't resist, at least thats my theory. my goal is to prove my theory. im not a womanizer, im just a 15 year old male.

I have set a few vague fitness goals...that I will fine tune...here is the "short" list ;)

1. To find a new gym by the end of next month. The current one is burning a hole in my pockets.

2. To find a training partner (suggestions are welcomed). Maybe a virtual training partner (anyone try that? PM me and let me know if it worked out for you) :help:

3. To keep a more consistent journal to chart progress as well as to improve eating. I always start well but after a few weeks I stop writing. :headbang:

4. To get my bf measured so I can have a better goal #wise since the scale isn't really an indicator.

the most important one....although a bit superficial it's motivational

5. Be ready to hit the beach before Memorial Day. I have never worn a two-piece and would like this to really be the year I do it.

Although last summer I saw some rather  brave people...I rather be one of the sexy people ;)

Last but not least

6. TO POST MORE! I need to laugh a little louder and to get some advice from you guys.:thumb:

Well DP~

When I say "good wife" I mean, To cook meals for my husband at least 3 times a wk (with 2 jobs its very very hard for me), sooo I don't want him relying on fast food. (even though he luvs it)...
also.. to save our money, and not spend to much at the grocery store, or on a new shirt..b/c our goal is the new home. But other than the cooking deal.. I think I'm an okay wife.. I only bitch at him when I have to...lol.. and I'm ALWAYS here for him, and I always listen to him, and he always gets some! :)

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
To get to 10% bf and Grow two more inches so I can be 6'6. I will be a monster

Forgive me, I'm old and easily confused, are you saying the scale is the most important indicator and also motivational? Oh NO, The scale is your worst enemy. It's the single most DE-motivational indicator in the entire weight room. STAY AWAY FROM THE SCALE!!! :finger: You're on the right track with your BF measurement. The mirror is also another friend of yours. Look and SEE how your body is improving, THAT will be your best indication of how well you're progressing. You want motivation? You want advice? Post your pictures on here. Yeah, yeah, I'm usually the sleezebag who's telling all the pretty women they need to post nekkid pics here but seriously, if you post some honest (not nekkid) pictures of yourself we'll be more than happy to give you honest advice on what needs improvement and how to get it. Pictures are also a very good way to keep track of your progress. As I've already said, use the mirror to look at yourself. With pictures, we can help too. :thumb:

Well my resolution is to get my inspectors license before the year is out, and to get in the best possible shape I can and improve on my diet and workout, make it better than it was last year.

8 ways to stick to your resolutions for 2003 (copied and pasted info)

1. Make The Commitment ??? You owe it to yourself to make this work. If you break your promise to yourself, then how can you expect anyone else to keep promises made to you? Make sure it's 100% the right thing for you right now and then go for it all the way. Imagine the sense of accomplishment you will gain from reaching your goals. If you feel like you're not totally ready, don't attempt to change anything or you'll just end up giving up, cheating and letting yourself down. This will make it twice as hard to attempt your goal next year.

2. Replace A Bad Habit With A Good One ??? It's not so easy getting resolutions off the ground ??? despite what some magazines may tell you. Habits are just addictions of a sort ??? addiction to cigarettes, food, laziness. Psychological or physiological ??? it doesn't matter. If you train your brain the right way, you'll be doing good things in no time. Shopoholic with maxed out credit cards? Get addicted to saving money by researching and buying stocks and mutual funds instead. Addicted to junk food and want to lose weight? Remember ??? if it's on your ass it's not an asset! Research tasty, healthy low-fat foods and get addicted to eating well and exercising.

3. Be Prepared ??? Make sure that you have everything you need on hand, in order to make your change. If your resolution is to get a new and better job, equip yourself with a good resume and an interview outfit so that you're never caught off-guard. If your resolution is to quit smoking, always keep carrots, chewing gum or nicotine gum handy to keep your hands and mouth busy.

4. Get A Buddy ??? The easiest way to ensure that you'll stick to something is to partner up with someone who has the same goal(s) as you. That way you can create a support group for each other ??? encouraging triumphs and understanding defeats, but never allowing the other to give up. This works particularly well for friends or coworkers who are trying to quit smoking or trying to lose weight. If you're both not smoking on a break or at a party, you don't miss it as much. And you may find you go for walks together instead of hanging out by the ashtray outside in the cold!

5. Break It Up ??? When trying to nix old vices, break up the task into manageable chunks ??? i.e. I can make it to next Friday without eating potato chips; or, I will lose 1-2 pounds each week. This makes the goals more possible, therefore increasing the feeling of success. At the end of the hour, day, week or month, double the amount of time you will hold out. Eventually you won't have to measure the time ??? it will be part of who you are. If you are trying to go in a new direction, the rule is the same. Set goals in small pieces ??? i.e. This week I will go to the gym three times; or, Today I will send out five resumes.

6. Give Yourself Rewards ??? If I stop biting my nails this year I am buying myself a new ring to show off my nice new nails. But in the meantime I will set up smaller goals. For example, if I don't bite my nails for the whole month of January, I will buy myself a professional manicure. The same for February. If I make it through three months of no biting I will buy myself some leather gloves. Apply this to your goal. Set the goals in increments and then offer yourself little pats on the back for making it there. You can also work this out with a loved one who wants to see you succeed. If your mother would like to see you saving money, ask her to invest in your GIC or other savings account for every $500 you save. If your husband wants to help you lose weight, ask him to buy you a new outfit for every dress size you drop.

7. Get A Professional ??? When all else fails and you are nearing the end of the proverbial rope - seek professional help. Dieticians for weight loss, hypnotherapy for quitting smoking, or personal trainers for getting fit are just a few examples of people who can make sure you get on the right track. Do your research and choose someone with whom you feel comfortable. Just remember ??? if you can get there on your own it's much cheaper!
8. Stay Positive ??? Don't let that little devil on your shoulder talk you out of your goals ??? no matter how tough it gets. You can do it. Believe in yourself and your ability to accomplish. If you feel like you can't change this one thing, you will feel like you have no control over your own life. Control the behavior ??? don't let it control you. Good luck!

Drinks lots of beer, and be merry! :D
