Newbie Weight Trainer in need of guidence

Hi, I'm 5'4 120 lbs. 19 going over to 20 in November. I'm thinking of going for a Whey Protein and twinlab muti with iron.

I do 40 push up every 2 days
100 sit up every every 2 days
i jog up my flight of stairs 11th floor is where i live
5x.

thinking of joining a gym for 300 a yr... ( dunno is it worth it)
free weights , i lift 25lbs each.
pull downs 60lbs to start off since high school
all the machinese i keep the weights at a steady 60 lbs.
i intake in 30g of protein per meal. (avg)

I'm scared to overwork out , but that does not seem to be the case because i do not work out everyday. I'am defiantly going to pick up that beginners training book. I need some guidence on how to get tone , not lift to heavy weights so i can still grow, and build mass. Your two cents on this much appreicated.

I'm going for a mass,abs,tone work out... not to heavy because i have school.
