No carb source = PWO shake worth it?

I moved into college this week, and I've worked out my lifting schedule around my class schedule, but I don't have a blendable carb source to go with my whey. Is it worth it to take the whey just in water, or is it oxidized too quickly even right after a workout. Or should I find a way to mix it with some milk from the dining hall?
 
just throw some oat bran in and skim milk and shake it about and down it.
 
dextrose is like $1/lb, pixie sticks, rice cakes, hell even milk has been shown to be high enough GI to kick start protein/glycogen synthesis post w/o.
