They have these in the display at Sam's Club all the time, they are huge, like 120+ pounds, I've seen a 140 pound Yellowfin up close they are massive.....easily 5-6 feet long......

The bluefin and Big Eye are the two most coveted, these guys are taking small ones cause they are closer to the coast, if they go further out to sea they'd find the bigger adults and the young would have a chance to thrive. I think with cheaper RF tagging we will in the future be able to tag babies and leave them out to sea until they've had time to grow to 200+ pounds........ There's no way we have tapped out the whole vast oceans resources, I've seen how large it is first hand. Maybe if they send out large tanker vessels with processing plants on board we can get the tuna in the deep, process them, and have smaller vessels bring the cans back.... That would leave only the Sashimi loving people to get the fresh stuff closer to land.........

Way different story over here on the east coast. ICCAT sets up international catch limits to rebuild stocks then foreign fleets with huge nets scoop them all up big & small. These are not the local boys with limited range, these are huge ships that can go anyplace they need to go.

Tune is the best. Fresh, raw tune (sashami) is expensive but a fantastic source of protein.

They are the most fertile anyway right? But I'm not saying all the big fish, most of the catch should be bigger fish

"lazy" fishermen have nothing to do with it.It has everything to do with it, using huge nets and multiple hooked lines miles long is a short cut, and they harm more than just the tuna population when they use such methods......

I am going by what I see in the video, they are discussing sushi and sashimi Tuna. First thing we need to do is teach the Japanese how to enjoy other sources of protein, those fuckers are so greedy when it comes to their seafood, they still hunt whales. Second we need to kill all those Sushi and Sashimi loving Californians, we could use their meat to fatten up a whole stock of Bluefin......

I get some of the best, canned tuna tastes rancid compared to an Ahi steak fresh from the market.....

If you like tuna then I suggest trying Garlic Butter Grilled Swordfish Steak, a friend of mine while in the Navy used to be a Gourmet Chef and would make this for us at least once a month when we'd have our Camping "Trips" Parties, we'd drop shrooms and acid, drink beer friday night through Saturday, Friday night we'd eat burgers, tacos, fajitas, etc and then Sunday afternoon while recuperating we'd eat steak and swordfish, mahi mahi, shrimp, with veggie kebabs then nap on the beach until the Sun went down then pack up and go home......
