Manual transmissions are typically not very heavy. Automatic transmission I would not even entertain. Me and a friend pulled on out of an old 5 liter mustang manual and it was like 150-200 pounds managable. We pulled out an automatic subuaru something(b4 they were all, all wheel drive)a week later high on our previous accomplishments. Holy shit were we off. The torque converters are heavy...
I put it off tonight because frankly..Im exhausted..
I think the transfer is probably gonna get pulled on it.
you have an 88 Cherokee yea that Peugeot tranny is crap, that idle gear gets worn between 1-2 gear and costs $900, I got a brand new GM tranny drop shipped for less money. best years are I think after 92 whenever they quit making the 4.2 HO that engine was crap and up till the 4.2 they had a lot of electrical defects. They fixed the wiring and went back to the 4.0 with an AX15 which is an awesome combo.neither, the little peugot (sp?) transmission...the one that the case splits down the middle (which someones had apart before...this troubles me mildly)
I really wanna put a shorty shifter in it because reverse was always a bitch in it, it'd pop out under any kind of torque...but now I suspect I know why. Loose bell housing bolts (seriously) and not a single bolt in the transmission mount that is in the skid plate...bolts were there..they just weren't in
I had always assumed it was because of either the crappy shift boot or because of the axle angle not being corrected with the lift...now Im not sure how the clutch and throwout bearing didn't start being a huge problem earlier
is it ok if you do all the sexy talking and I fall asleep?
