we need to round up all the fat "people" (25% body fat) and have what I refer to as "the steamroller challenge"

basically, put them on a 1 mile stretch of pavement and have a steamroller follow them.. if they are too fat to evade the steamroller (top speed is 3mph) they become part of the pavement

good idea right?

This might be your best post to date lol. It's not a good idea. It's a vote you for president and receive Nobel prize worthy idea lol.

LMFAO at reason #1 from msn money, fat people cost more jet fuel complete BS I'm an aircraft technician and I can assure you thats not true, if you really wanna save jet fuel eliminate baggage thats the real added weight.

if your driving a f-250 diesel truck, do you think you will actually save fuel if your passengers are average weight as opposed to being fat. Aircraft burn most of its fuel on take off and climb. lets say a 737 with a max take off weight of 175,000 lbs with 7,000gals/ 40,000lbs of fuel. A person being 50-100 lbs overweight is not effecting fuel burn. jus sayin

^^^what he said^^^

Grow up, the government does not need to save us from anything if we all learn to take responsibilty and mature. Our main problem in todays America is the government trying to be involved in every aspect of our lifes.

i agree.

the main problem is this is what most of the American people want. they like govt telling them how to live their lives. sounds crazy but they voted for this kind of govt. so the only conclusion i can come up with is they like the nanny state.

i guaranfuckingtee you she's using food stamps. :coffee:

Numerous studies show that low-income children and adults are far more likely to be overweight than those of greater means. And the statistical distribution fits a nice, neat curve - as income falls, the rate of obesity rises.

The primary reason that lower-income people are more overweight is because the unhealthiest and most fattening foods are the cheapest. If you were broke and had just three dollars to spend on food today, would you buy a head of broccoli or a Super Value Meal with French fries, a cheeseburger and a Coke?

Obesity Takes 9% of Health Spending - CBS News

On average, health bills for a normal-weight person are about $3,400 a year, but that rises to $4,870 for someone who's obese, Finkelstein said. Prescription drugs are the biggest driver of those costs: Medicare spends about $600 more per year on medications for an obese beneficiary than a normal-weight one.

Health economists have long warned that obesity is a driving force behind the rise in health spending. For example, diabetes costs the nation $190 billion a year to treat, and excess weight is the single biggest risk factor for developing diabetes. Moreover, obese diabetics are the hardest to treat, with higher rates of foot ulcers and amputations, among other things.

you know what i NEVER see? an extremely fat person working. i can shop all damned day and never see one obese person working anywhere.

Add insult to injury. Give the fattys a motorized vehicle/cart to shop with at Walmart and then promote price matching with no ad to prove it! Makin it easy, why? I say if your not handicapped, walk your fat ass around the store or go home and make them show proof of advertised price.

INTERESTING STORY: I was in cashiers line behind a FAT FAMILY, 3kids, mom and dad. The fat mom was telling the cashier the price she was going to pay for about 75% of the items in her basket and the cashier just rung it up the way she was told. I was shocked, her basket was overflowing (with junk food, frozen dinners and soda) and supposedly she could remember these advertised prices from other stores, it was outrageous, every price was 1, 2, 3 or 4 dollars even, no 1.99 or 3.99 or anything like that. It was painfully obvious she was lying through her rotten teeth When she was gone, the cashier apologized for the wait, I said no problem, what was all that about? She then explained the policy at their location was "no ad needed" just name your price and that's what you pay...
I hate going to Walmart, unless it's 5-6 am. Rant over.

We've got a shit ton of fat people where I work. The all have desk jobs.

I guess this is what the people of NYC want. they elected the politicians who created this law. congrats now ur govt will make ur drink choices for u because it thinks ur too stupid to make ur own.

and what about the people that voted for the politicians that took the money from the HFCS monopoly and the GMO corn laden with mercury that is used for that product and everything else in US supermarkets? the problem just didn't create itself.

many of the economic problems in the US are the end result of politicians passing legislation that financially benefits one group or another. ultimately the end result of supreme court decisions from the late 1800's that gave corporations and lobbyist direct access to law makers. there are not many country's out there lacking in various problems with their respective states but the US has many specific problems many tracing back to the last century.

there is no country that has many large highly profitable firms and a small government

wait wait wait..... they think they have the right to ban large sugary drinks. I am truly disgusted. So sugary drinks are so bad they need legislation to limit them but u can still buy tobacco that is loaded with extra carcinogens to make people more addicted. So i guess they need to pass a limit on doughnuts and cheeseburgers. F****** idiots

While I'm not for a ban (I'm for a tax), they are that bad and people refuse to acknowledge that. Diabetes and other diseases related to high sugar consumption cost this country far more money than cigarettes ever did. Lung cancer will kill you in 5 or so years, diabetes takes decades and costs billions more.

Here's a link from Robb Wolf who essentially watched his dad die from diabetes.

Is the paleo diet hard to do? Can you make the change?

This quote is particularly powerful and telling...

"I remember when my dad?s whole foot was really infected, antibiotics were worthless due to his poor circulation. His doctors were trying to figure out what to do with him and the options were grim. While I was trying to patch up dad?s foot for the umpteenth time, he took in a big breath, let it out in a sigh and said (cigarette in one hand, beer in the other) ?Well. I guess I?ll let them take the foot. Then we?ll finally be done.?

I looked at him for a moment and then said:

?Done? Like, they take the foot, you quit smoking, drinking and eating poorly? Because this is not some nebulous deal with the universe. If you don?t change, it?s the foot today, up to your knee in 3-6 months??

About a week later they ?took? my dad?s right foot just above the ankle. Four months after that they ?took ? his leg up to his knee. Once they hit his knee his circulation was sufficient to keep him ulcer free on the right leg. Then he started having problems with his left foot?"

This is the thought process of a vast majority of people. "I'll do what I want and the doctors will fix it." Ahh, no they won't, dickhead."

but u can still buy tobacco that is loaded with extra carcinogens to make people more addicted.

as income increases the rate of smoking decreases. if it was the opposite and the 1%ers were the heavy smokers there would be no carcinogens in them.

Cigarettes and alcohol kill lots of people every year just like Tylenol which is sold over the counter has more people over dosing on then steroids. Everything is out of hand anymore I will never understand. just like walmart how they would not let there employees work full times for many years that way they could let the state pay for there health insurance and pass it on to us tax payers. Hell do yo guys know about kbr and how they had no competition when they were bidding for the government to get the contract. They were buying and leasing cars trucks blowing them up and instead of buying a truck or a car they would lease it for 250,000 dollars. Because the more money they spent the more money they made. It's kind of off topic but fucking crazy shit like this can go on. If anyone is interested in the walmart documentary its called the high cost of low price.Actually I am going to start a new thread about these two topics.

it's just like the for profit prison industry scam in the US thanks to ALEC. the US has 25% of the worlds prison population but only 5% of the total US population. the top 20-30 leading large firms in the US from GE, Motorola, defense contractors, etc. on down all utilize the prison labor system. but because the wages are so low (from $.25-$1.50/hr) there is not enough revenue collected for the inmate to pay for his stay so the tax payers have to pick up the rest which is the vast majority of the expenses. they also compete directly with the private sector, lots of studies on this subject.

when you peel away all the layers the US economy is total bullshit. everything has been manipulated in favor of capital and business owners over the worker that sells his labor for wages.

Good Im glad. Im tired of paying tax money to help treat fat people diseases.
