...my first post, so here goes........

would like to hear some opinions...?

I'm 40, consider myself fit, train Muay Thai twice a week and if i miss a session i'll do circuits - Cardio work. I also do two weights sessions, we have a gym at work so i workout in my lunch time...... i use relatively light weights, doing no more than 15 reps, no less than 12.

Did lots of weights when i was younger, but the desire to get big/huge is nolonger a driving force. The question is, can still put QUALITITY muscle on?

I don't want to get in to the mind set of confusing getting fat and bulky with lean and muscular... which i see so many guys falling into.

Also, I find it takes me longer to recover from my works outs now.... i guess that's an age thing though???

Can it be done, can i put muscle on... i'm trying to eat a high protien diet.

Any comments welcome.

Thanks in advance..... be gentle with me!

if you look at the stickies they are brilliant. age is a small factor, its just a question of not overdoing your level.

Yes, you can still put on muscle mass. However, you will probably have to pay closer attention to your diet now than you would have at age 20.

I don't want to create illusions of grandeur though. You may very well have to start by putting on some fat with your muscle and later cutting the fat while trying to hold onto that lean mass.
