A person who has an eating disorder usually develops it because they feel very pressured from something around them and they feel that it is the one thing they are able to "contol." I'm sure she or no one else with an ED wants someone to feel sorry for them or pity them. It's really not something that is developed because of lack of or excess of money though. I've known people of all different financial back grounds that have developed eating disorders. It's not just a girl thing either.

Remember, anorexia is considered under the group of obsessive compulsive disorders and is treated successfully as such. It is no less debillitating as the obsessive compulsive hand washer, clean freak etc. As for it being a predominantly female disease, yes, due to society's general emphasis on being thin for the women. However, I can tell you men have this disorder as well, as ncgirl alluded to. Once again, it has one of the higest mortality so it should not be treated too lightly. As for why an identical twin has this disorder and the other doesn't , many feel these psychiatric diseases, though having a genetic predisposition, probably involves alteration of epigenitic material ( the stuff around and in genes that aren't directly transcribed ie: nonsense regions, protective protien matrix etc) which are affected by environmental changes and also are due to psycological environmental triggers.... thus, genetically identical twins can have only one set who manifests with such a disease. Socially, despite being twins, they occupy different roles in their family hierarchy as my own twin and I have done despite going to the same schools, wearing the same clothes<,(until high school) etc. and thus each have different psycological burdens and stressors.

Like.. 85% of celebrities(sp?) arent pretty; cant act, ussually smell and are addicted to at least one banned substance(And I dont mean steroids!:P) Its that theyre already famous that makes them easy to sell. Well.. That, and the bathrobe/towel scene in New York Minute.

Er.. anyways.. So eh.. Yeah, its all their marketing team's work. They dont do much as far as thinking of what to do.. They just do what they're told.. crap- If they were really thinking about their careers; why would they be heading to NYU(collage) soon.

Speaking of beheading; Why the **** are we so much more interested in what the Olsen twins are doing than the fact that we're at WAR and those animals are slaughtering our civilians? :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

Perhaps its that we can trust the media to bring us fair and unbiased coverage on her; but not a war; which they can spin for their political favor.:grumble:
 
Accually, I can awnser that.. Its because we've heard about the war, and talked/debated it so much that its not that interesting anymore.. We're not there(Although I was refering to the "war on terrorism" originally) so its not something that we need to focus on at all times.. The real truth will come out the same way it did in Vietnam.. What is it.. 15 years till the files become public? 15 or 30 I think.. either way.. :P nuff war talk, back to the twins.. :drool:
 
Yaknow as much as I would have loved having a daughter Im glad I stopped at a son. If this is the level of young American womanhood then we are in serious trouble. I know a guy who makes porn videos and he has coeds and housewives lined up down the block to be in them, I wonder if the same woman are ever on The Oprah show moaning about being "victimized" by the porn industry.

But my favorites are the ones like these twins, or Paris,madonna,britney and all the others in the "Im the biggest whore in the western world" contest. Let me guss, they are all victims too? If there are their roles models then I think American womanhood is in serious trouble.........take care...........Rich
