What are the best sources?

What do you guys eat daily in terms of Omega-3 ?
From what I read they say that we need to have a balance between Omega-6 and Omega-3 , and I was wondering how much in terms of percentage and grams would someone eat on a daily basis?

Udo Erasmus recommends 1 TBLS per 45 pounds of BW of his one to one Omega 3 (N-3) to omega 6 (N-6) mixture ) (Udo's Oil, see link at the bottom of the DPw8 website)...but he assumes this is your major fat source if you have a good diet!

Truth is we get tons of N-6s in nuts, oils, other fats...and most need just to add more N-3s. Best sources are flax oil at 54-57% and/or fish oils! :D

There are 11 different Omega 3 fatty acids. You only need to care about two of them, EPA and DHA. The most common is ALA, however vegetable oils are a good source of ALA and most people get enough. The body can convert ALA to EPA and DHA, but only a small fraction, and efficiency is low, on the order of 5%. So, you should use a concentrated Omega 3 supplement that's high in EPA and DHA, typically in a 3:2 ratio (E : D). Look to get about 4 grams total of EPA and DHA combined.

About the Omega 3 to 6 balance... Your body uses the same metabolic pathway to utilize both Omegas, so just getting enough EPA/DHA isn't enough, you have to limit the Omega 6 in your diet. Not eliminate, but various studies suggest a 1:2 (Omega 3: Omega 6) ratio is good. Bad news is that the average Western diet gives a ratio of something like 1:10 or 1:20 (yikes). Do a search on foods (mostly oils and fats) high in Omega 6 and low in Omega 3 to see what to avoid.
