Hey, this is probably an easy question for you guys to answer, but what is over training? Would my routine be over training? I really don't have one. I get a 30lbs dumbbell ready, with a curling bar, tricep bar and then I set up the tricep machine. What I do is

8 reps of bicep curl
12 reps of tricep barbell
8 reps of standing bicep curl with barbell
12 reps at tricep machine

That equals one set. I do that for about an hour, so I probably do a final of around 5-6 sets of that. After that I do dumbbell butterflies on an incline bench. I do 3-4 sets of 10-12 for that and inbetween the sets of the butterflies I get a barbell and do some chest exercise (I think, I don't really know the name of it. The barbell is infront of you, and you lift it up to your chin and down) and I do 3-4 sets of 10-12 for that too then I go home. I do all of that in one day and I do it each time I go which is monday, wednesday, and friday's.

I work out so much yet I really don't think I have the body I should for all that. I am strong, but nothing is showing, even when I am really skinny. What should I do?

That takes you an hour?!

Your workout sucks, thats why your not progressing the way you want to. It may have worked for the first bit but you'll get nowhere with it.

You need to go with a 3 or 4 day split working each muscle no more than once a week.
You need to keep your reps around 4-6 and no more than 8-10.
You need to take in enough Protein/carbs and fat to build the body you want.

Do a search for routines and diet, check out the main Ironmag page for plenty of good tips.

Most of those are saying do 3 to 2 sets of each. Should I stay with that or do more like around 4 or maybe 5 sets, because to me, 2-3 sets seems like it won't work as much as I do with my other "workout"

I do 3-4 sets, if your finding it easy then maybe your not doing enough weight? Try to keep your total sets per muscle around 6 to 9 for small muscle like arms and 12 for large like legs chest and back.

So lets say your doing bi's, you could do 2 exercises for like 4 sets each for a total of 8 or 3 exercises with 3 sets for a total of 9.
Bottom line is, more isn't always better, its the quality that counts.

What makes you think that it's necessary to do more sets?

Weren't you originally asking us about overtraining?

Yeah, but I thought I was overtraining because I was working like 3-4 muscle groups in one day. So would it be better to do around 4-5 sets or stay with 3 sets max?

Well if I just do that routine that you gave me the url to. What do you think?

Lol, no I was asking about the sets of that routine, should I keep them the same, or push more to around 4-5 sets because I feel that after 2-3 sets, I will easily still have enough energy/strength to do more.
