ok i want to start cutting i weigh around 155 and i want to get to around 130 what would i need to do? i high protein diet? low carbs?

You could keep asking questions on how you can loose weight, waiting for the easy option but you might be waiting a while.

I am just confused as to why you want to be 130# when you are 5'6? :hmmm: 145-145# would be much healthier as a target - 130# is much more appropriate for a female of that height...

That doesn't mean you need to take yourself to a really low weight.

Why not drop some of the flab (cut down to 145#) and then sit there for a while - if you train hard and eat right you should be able to modify your body composition without making yourself skinny...

Listen to Emma. I'm going through the same sorta thing. I'm your height and weighed 175-180 lbs. I got down to 140lbs and I was still "skinny fat" - skinny everywhere and flab around the waist. I started doing what Emma suggested eating right and training hard and that helped a lot - I'm gaining muscle and slowly loosing the weight arounnd the waist. You don't wanna go down to 130lbs thats really unhealthy - you'll end up starving yourself to get there and it will do you more harm than good.

I meant that by the look of your photo it doesnt look like bodyfat should be a concern.

so is it possible to modify body composition withought dropping weight.

I think so. I've been doing it. I've stayed the same weight (even gone up a couple of pounds) all while my waist is gettin smaller.

Yes it's very possible. It's called Body Recomposition ;) Gaining LBM and losing bodyfat at the same time.

Well...I eat the right things and train hard. The calories that I consume are roughly 5-10% above my maintenance.

Yup.. you have to have everything just perfect though.. but its possible. I can do it :D

I did it for the last 2 months :D
Went from 185 to 179, strength increased :)

Now time to bulk to 210!
