That's good info. Just keep inmind that there is no one way to hit any pose. Everyones body is different and you need to hit every pose so that it make you look your best (hiding any week points). Get someone to look at you that has competed before. Plus look at as many different ways to hit every pose (from mag's and so on) and see which one looks best on you. Just take your time and start practicing many weeks out from your show and hold them for at least 10 sec each! You never know how long the judges will keep you in each pose so you need to be ready to hold it.

Thanks Scott. Jodi has me holding each pose for 1 min and that is incredibly hard! My Comp is in 5 weeks!!!

Wow a min what did you do to piss her off:whip: ;) No doubt you will be ready. What show are you doin? I'm 5 weeks out too from the WNBF Pro American.

I'm suppose to be holding mine a min too. But I'm working up to that time. LOL It's a b@tch! Still have 11 weeks to master it.:D

We are. Having that scheduled for tomorrow at the gym before work.

I'm not sure what I did?!:p My show is May 1 and it's Musclemania promoted my DC Bodybuilding. www.dcbodybuilding.com My first show!! The posing is very hard for me to get the hang of though, especially when I'm not looking in a mirror. I have scoliosis and have to keep correcting for that but when the mirror is not there I don't seem to correct it very efficiently :(

Untill you get the feel of the poses you really shouldn't pose without a mirror, because part of the point of practicing is to learn how to hit the pose. If your hitting it wrong your teaching your muscles the wrong way. Get a cheep long mirror at Walmart or somthing and a little one. Try to fix them so you can see your back from the reflection. It will help alot.

That's what I have and do now and I do pretty good with it. But if you look in my gallery, you'll notice everytime I pose for my pics for Jodi (I send like every 2 weeks) my body is weird because I'm not looking in a mirror. Your probably right though I just need to do it ALOT more. :)

When your infront of the mirror get in the pose and focus on every part of your body. You must train your body to get into that exact position. It's a matter of memorizing that position. It just takes time. Keep it up good luck.

I suck at my front and rear lat spreads! Just thought I would let everyone know. But we'll be working hard on that one. :thumb:

1 thing that seems to work for alot of people I've worked with that can't hit that shot is to take a deeeeep breath. I will keep you fuller and seems to keep the lats spread more.

LOL, Scott...I tried that today. I still suck. Just gotta practice more.

This isn't instructional, but it's rather fun (the good, the bad and the ugly!). Results from last year's Olympus 2003, with brief video clips from the routines of many of the competitors.

That site is AWESOME Akateros! Thanks for sharing, I think that'll help me out alot!:thumb:

Cajun...go to places that have the top figure girls listed. look at their poses. Try www.npcnewsonline.com

Thanks Jodi. I've been checking out all the pics, just wasnt sure what mandatory poses there are.

usually just the quarter turns. depends on which federation your doing. did you check out the website for the federation of the show?

I sure did. I didnt see anything regarding mandatory poses. Maybe I overlooked them. Its an NPC show.

Who do you use to make your suits and how long in advance do they need. My brothers friend in Vegas, who was suppose to be making mine is procrastinating. So I might have to look somewhere else.

Thanks so much for everything Jodi :)
