Postworkout shake/meal

I'm 5'10, 165lbs and bulking right now.

Currently, I am taking 44g's of protein, 5g creatine, 5 g glutamine post workout, with 4-6 strawberries.

However, after a couple searches I'm wondering if I should just be taking a postworkout protein shake (44g of protein) directly after my workout. Then wait about 2-3 hours to get my carbs in during my next Solid meal....such as 1/2-3/4 cup of brown rice with some lean meat.

Should I stick to what I'm doing now (using strawberries as carbs), or should I eliminate that and just take the shake itself directly after a workout (5 minutes later)?
 
I would stick to taking in the carbs rite after if the spike is desired. People have mixed feelings about that but I feel your body needs those carbs and proteins directly after so take some to replenish the muscles. Then an hour later have a solid meal with your carbs and protein again.

How much protein can the average male absorb at once? Isn't it somewhere around 35 grams?
