Hey. Someone already posted a question about these in the supplement forum found here.

I have a question about these cookies that I thought would be better answered here so that is why I'm gonna ask it here lol...:hmmm:

Anyway, in the description of the cookie, they say this:

Power Protein Cookie has a net carb count of 9 grams. Only these carbs should be counted toward your low carb diet, since the remaining 14 carbs come from fiber, sugar alcohols, and glycerine.

Now, I always thought that, lets say something has 20 carbs in it and 5 fiber then you would subtract the fiber amount from the total carb amount right? So in this example the number of digestible carbs would be 15?

But in the article about these cookies, it says each one has only 2g of fiber if I am seeing it right, which would mean that there are 21 carbs left not 9?.....wait I am reading the nutrition label as I type this and I think I see what they mean now.....hmm 9g of sugars...sugars = carbs so ....ah ok so that's where they are getting the 9 from....they just count the carbs that come from sugar as the digestible ones?

Bah...If I am right, then I'm sorry for making you guys read this....

I know what everyone is gonna say "Eat real food, not crap.," but if you ate one every now and then as a semi cheat snack, I don't think it would hurt.

I'm not sure about the answer to the actual question.

haha ya I wasn't planning on getting them just wondering about the whole fiber deal.

It's beacuse they aren't counting the carbs from sugar alcohols most likely.

in fact here's an exerpt fromt the product description:

"Power Protein Cookie has a net carb count of 9 grams. Only these carbs should be counted towards your low carb diet, since the remaining 14 carbs come from fiber, sugar alcohols, and glycerine. All of which have a minimal effect on blood sugar levels."

they may have little effect on blood sugar but they do contain calories.
