Well folks. As on Thursday afternoon I underwent a lumbar fusion and a Pars Interarticularious correction surgery. The surgery lasted a total of 8 hours, three longer than scheduled due broken hardware removal from a previous failed surgery. I hope for once and all my problems are over and my pain level is returned to an acceptable level. Fingers crossed. Here are some pics from before the surgery of the bilateral pars fracture and broken crews from the repair. The surgeon said the amount of nerve root compression is the worst he's seen on anyone during his 17 year practice.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I had L4/S1 fusion in 2003. Plates, rods, screws and the titanium cage with bone grafts, pretty much the whole nine yards.
They had me up and walking the next day and would have gone home the 2nd day but the hospital staff had lost track of how much blood I lost through the drain in the incision which caused a lot of unneeded trouble. Was home on day 5 and back to work (light duty) by day 10.
The pain I have from time to time now is far removed from the constant pressure on the nerve root from a ruptured L5 disk.
For me it was as successful as it could have been. Beyond my expectations. No more painkillers.

I truly hope that your surgery was successful. No one understands that kind of pain until they've had to experience it themselves.

Back pain is the worst pain of all. I had a laminectomy on my L4/L5. I still have some pain. Good luck 2B1.

Good luck Brother ...I am in pain it seems half the year on and off. Not sure what my next step is gonna be! Keep us updated on ur progress ..
