Prefer Home Or Gym?

Here are my sweet new dumbbells. Some other pics of my set up also. Dangit. Give me a min.

Here we go.

Nice set up.. what did the squat rack run you?

I got the rack, bar, 300lbs of weight, olympic curl bar for 250$. Local classifieds paper.

I prefer silence.

Home would do but i prefer Gym. its easier for me to do my work outs . all equipment i need for my exercise are there and i have a couch to depend on.

Fair enough Quincy, but how do you find time inbetween solving murders involving suspicious deaths?

Great set up doublebase, I would love that. How much do you think it all cost?

I got the heavy bag for my b-day about 5 years ago. Speed bag was like 50$. Precor Ellipitical was 1500$. Well worth it. I love that machine so does my finacee. Squat rack and about 500lbs of oympic weights cost 250$. Flat Bench was 100$. Dumbells 5 -100 lbs in 5lb increments with DB rack was about 500$. Deadlift mat was 80$. Extra bars were about 50$. So just the weight training stuff was under 1000$. 90% was off craigslist. Its something I always wanted. I have had my house and gym for a little over a year now. I train down there about 4 times a week. I also train my Mom and sister occassionally. I have other equipment too. Fitness ball, medicine ball, trap bar, push-up bars, ab wheel. I love my gym. Its pretty much my passion. Thanks for the complimentry comments.

That is a sweet set up! Way better than what I had when I worked out at home. I just had some 10 lb dumbbells, a jump rope, a floor mat, and the park to run around...lol! I just really like the whole "scene" you can't get at home too.
What I like is you have a lot of equipment to work out a lot of different areas...nice variety!

6 cylinder? Never realized how good 20 MPG looks when someone else says 16...:-p

Haha...when you go to Aspen website, the word FREE is everywhere. LOL. Maybe thats why its free...because it isn't the greatest place to go. Haha. Did you try one of their FREE memberships on their site and realize how bad it was? Are they really small gyms? I like that 24 Hour Fitness has multiple floors so you don't feel all claustrophobic and have more room to do this...--> :mooh::mooh::mooh: Haha.

nah i didnt waste my time trieng a memborship at all. i did a walk through with a friend of mine. my buddy told me aspen was just like the greatest gym, and i would love it. like i said i freaking hated it. to much cardio machines, to much weight machines, and barely any free's. also all the crap is tucked into a small area.

Prefer Home Or Gym?

could do with a poll on this topic to see which one is more popular more easily and quicker?

True...we could have. :-p But Looks like it all comes down to personal preference! I would say maybe it was 60/40...favoring the gym. Count me in as a gym rat! :hiya:

gym rat here to. i have weight at home for the days that i had to work late. so dont want to be in the gym at peak hours. that doesnt really happen to often but i like the option.

Gym. There's too many distractions at home.

buy a ipod that will take care of said distractions lol.

When I was a young man...

When I as a kid I could work out anywhere - I was a fiend for lifting and jumping rope and would break tons of stuff at my parents house just working out -

Now I'm 30, and I can't get it up unless I'm in a gym - better yet I need to have my training partner with me most of the time to get a good workout - and for cardio, I need a competitive type environment to do anything -

Just makes me appreciate why people need Personal Trainers more -
