Politicians will have to stand up and publicly say: that Social Security and Medicare must be cut for tens of millions.

That would be political suicide, not even touching on whether its true or not, medicare and SS are taboo topics. The 50+ age group votes more than any other group of people in the country, thats why student loans and spending on education always gets cut before cool stuff for old peoples.
