So I'm going to be trialing the Sweet Serum from Primordial Performance which is a low calorie sweetener. Hopefully should get it this week or early next week.

I'll be trying it out in shakes and hot beverages, but I'll also try my hand at some baking recipes to see if it's an acceptable substitute for Splenda as a low calorie sweetener in baking. Figure I'll go for some homemade corn bread and protein brownies. Any other ideas are welcome.

It left here today, so you'll probably see it this week. If you want some extra ideas for recipes you can check out the Primordial Kitchen

Received it earlier today.

My first impression of it was that it tastes kind of like a sweeter honey. It has a syrupy consistency (makes sense!) and seems to mix fairly well.

The only thing I've done with it so far is taste it straight and mix it with tea. It tasted pretty normal, almost as if I'd added a packet of honey. There doesn't seem to be an aftertaste that I've noticed yet.

I'll mainly be trying it in hot drinks for the next couple days. Once my carbup hits on Friday/Saturday, I'll do some baking to see how it holds up. I'm thinking corn bread and/or banana bread.

So after a few days of using it, I'm half and half on hot drinks. For teas, it's delicious - it's just like putting honey into your tea! On the flipside, honey doesn't go so well with coffee. I will definitely be using this whenever I drink tea instead of Splenda.

The baking test is still to come. A small batch of cornbread sometime tomorrow afternoon sounds decent. It should be interesting - the lack of sugar or splenda will reduce the dry bulk of the recipe. I have no idea how that will affect the end result.

hey man, any updates on this?

update?

Sure, sorry - think I tossed some of this info into a different thread.

I wouldn't recommend trying to cook it into "dry" baked goods like cornbread or muffins since that didn't seem to work too well, but if you want to mix into into a pie filling like diced up apples for a pie it worked pretty decently.

For normal drinking - it's still awesome if you're a big tea drinker which I am. It's like dumping super sweet honey into your drink.

Also really good for sweetening up a protein shake. Make a nice thick glass of chocolate whey and mix a teaspoon of this in there and it's like having a candy milkshake. Delicious!

Nice, glad you're liking it.
