Just curious what percentage of pro athletes you guys think use gear? Maybe I'm just naive but when I saw guys like Patrick Willis, Ray Lewis, etc I thought they just had great genetics and can stay 250 lbs year round. But after doing a little research, I'm led to believe a high percentage of athletes use. Like over 70% but that's just my guess. One of my good friends back home is a 3 time world champion in MMA. He was fighting before MMA was as huge as it is now. He used consistently and told me all the guys use and find ways around the test. I know Rick Ankiel and I remember seeing him one year after his rookie season and we partied like rock stars. The following year he sat in the corner drinking water which I thought was odd. A few years later I read he had HGH sent to his house. I know gear use is or was prevalent in baseball. I just thought sports like MMA and football had better testing in place that would deter athletes from using but I guess that's not the case. I saw a website that listed every positive test in MMA, at least the upper echelon, from the first UFC. Royce Gracie was on the list. I heard they rarely test in the NCAA and nfl in the offseason so I guess it would be easy to use test suspension or prop to get that edge and get it in and out ASAP. If anyone has any more intimate details of this and could share without disclosing too much, that would be great.
