Has anyone used this brand of Protein? Personally I love it and I just wanted to hear what you have to say about it...It comes in all kinds of flavors:
Banana Yogurt with Banana pieces, Alpine Milk Chocolate with Chocolate Pieces, Strawberry White Chocolate with Strawberry pieces, Vanilla Very Berry with Berrie, and a few others...

This morning I added DaVinci's Sugar Free Coconut Syrup to the Alpine Milk Chocolate one - it was awesome! (Tonight I added Cashew butter and DaVinci's Hazelnut Sugar Free Syrup to my French Vanilla Designer Whey - that was good but beside the point)

Heres the basic nutrition facts on PROTEIN DELITE:

1 scoop =
Calories: 112
Fat: .75 g
Carbs: 5 grams
Sugar: 1.5
Fiber: 1.5
Protein: 19.5

I dont usually ever add any syrup or anything and I mix these with water. They are really awesome for a low calorie - 20 gram protein!:thumb:

Can't say i have. When it comes to protein i have the cheapest most basic brand there is. All it is is WPC, no artificial anything. 80/7/4 P/F/C per the 100g. If i want it sweet i'll use it as a meal replacement, mix a scoop or there abouts in 500ml milk, how ever much ice for volume, 3-7 drops of saccharin, half a cap of vanilla essence and i have a great (cheap) tasting shake!

and it's something like
30g protein
30g carb
15g fat

How can you go wrong with that?

why is ginamarie a pic of a girl i know whos name isnt ginamarie????????im going to bring her here

Ok Dave.

i bet u bought them from the IM shop didnt you????????? mwahahahah

How well does it do with water as far as solubility? I've found that a lot of the lower calorie stuff is the best to use in conjunction with personal ingredients like the popular "oats and banana" type ideas.

Being deployed I'm torn, I would prefer lower calories but I stick to the more stand alone higher cal stuff like muscle milk as straight up meal replacement.

I use this as a meal replacement...well I dont know what to consider today. I woe up and had a banana with a Tbsp of Power Butter - then had a short 5 mile marathon trainging and came home to have a Protein Shake for a post workout thing...I mix it with water ALWAYS and it mixes great. U can do it alone with a spoon and some ice - or today I decided to do half of a scoop of the Strawberry with half of the banana and I used a blender with a few ice cubes and water -t hat to worked great. Its amazing how well it mixes and how wonderful the taste is. I used to LOVE Muscle Milk Cookies and Cream - but my focus is to lose weight and I just cant drink all of those calories personally. I highlight suggest this protein not only for the nutritional information, but for the variety of flavors and how great eachone tastes. The Alpine Milk Chocolate one, even though its mixed only with water tastes like a nice chocolate milk. Now these CAN be mixed with milks too for those of us that arent as anal as me when ti comes to calories, fat, and SUGAR! :)

u sed the banana flavor had chunks of banana in it?...i take it its not a powder?

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
I have had it before. I used to like it, but one time I had the coconut almond flavor and I decided to blend it with peanut butter, frozen rasberries, frozen strawberries and raw outmeal. It came out tasting like Potpourri smells. It was gross. I can never drink it again.

Hahaha "tasting like potporri smells" that's hilarious. Yeah I can see that being pretty gross though, bet it was the oatmeal coconut mix that did it.

Yeah I know muscle milk has a lot of calories that's why I use it for meal replacement because depending on what type of training I'm doing on a particular day I need anywhere from 390 - 550 calories if it's going to count as a meal.

Yes it has banana chunks - and the strawberry white chocolate has strawberry chunks - yet they ARE a powder! They are dried chunks...And Plateu Max the 390-550 calorie thing is awesome. As for me Ive mentioned to someone b4 I ahd the gastric Bypass Surgery so I consume about a total of 1000 calories a day - trust me I wish I could have the muscle milk sometimes so live it up!

Hey Gina you mentioned before you were having trouble busting through a plateau. Would you do me a favor and use the calorie calculator in the stickies to see how many cals you burn on average in a given day?

1000 seems low even for a sedentary person, so for someone like you who runs a lot I can't see that being nearly enough, part of me is starting to think your body may be starving and storing a lot in adipose.

I will go ahead and do that...But at the same time I have to still follow my surgeons "order's" with my redesigned body. Admittingly enough he said that I can be at 1500 or a little more with as active as I am, but I am scared to death of eating that much!!! Its only been 1 yr since my surgery - and coming from 321 lbs I dont want to go backwards AT ALL. Dont let me fool you I have days that I get close to 2000 calories - if its a high stress emotional day, and I have some weeks where I average at about 1500 Im sure - but my psychological goal is to be around 1000. That is simply because of the way my body has been "re done" We do accept and absorb things twice as much as normal people. That is the one thing that needs to be realized about my diet and my fears. I have seen a LOT of people gain the weight back, granted a lot of them were taking in excess of 3000 calories and not working out, but our bodies certainly will gain the weight twice as fast as someone whom has not had this surgery. Its very tricky in a way. I am in the gym with Strength training 6 days a week, 3 days with cardio and 3 days with running (1 being a long distnace run) - so yes I need the fuel from food - but I have huge scares, especially from where I came from...:scared:

So, I hope I input all the right - or close enough info...this si a reason I want to get a Body Bugg...

Resting (basal) metabolic rate: 1646 calories per day
Typical daily activities: 678 calories per day
Calories burned from Running: 313 per day
Calories burned from Other: 360 per day
Total calories burned: 2998 per day

Here is an estimate of your daily energy needs...
Calories Burned
Daily Energy Expenditure: 3029 kcal (12682 kJ)

Bingo

Total calories burned: 2998 per day

If you're only consuming 1,000 per day you're in nearly a 2,000 calorie deficit on a daily basis which is definitely going to cause your body to store more fat than it needs to.

How many meals do you eat a day? Let's take this one step at a time.

Holy shit.

For dieting how much of a deficit would be sufficient? -500? -1000? -200?

For trial and error's sake, Id assume one wouldnt know right away.

Depending on my schedule or my day I eat 3 -5 times a day...I agree with above, where should I be? This is terrifying for me to think of eating anymore, and I sure wont exercise any less lol

What about the fact that it says for my needs - the expenditure needs to be 3029? Could I actually just not be burning enough to break the plateau? Now I DID just lose 3 lbs last week to break my 3 mth plataeu...

Slowly start trying to add more food. Don't just jump into an extra 1000 cals a day. It won't seem like as big of a deal then. As said earlier, you are royally screwing with your metabolism and thyroid with cals that low.

With cals that low your body is going to want to store fat, cause it fears starvation, so this is a protective measure.

You should never "diet" rather always look to beneficially modify your nutritional habits to meet your needs. If you're looking to lose weight while maintaining a moderate to high level of exercise you need to know how many calories you burn specific to each day.

Make sure you get clean burning complex carbs in the earlier hours of the day to better fuel your workout, and balance everything out with lean protein and healthy fats. For losing weight a good calorie deficit would be 500 calories. So basically if you ate the exact amount of calories you needed for maintenance with no exercise, then you could burn 500 by running and be set (just an example).

In this case Gina you're going to need to add more food little by little to bring your calorie total up at a slow enough rate so it doesn't get stored. The best way to be lean is to eat a minimum of 5 meals a day, and spread your calories out evenly. In your case with such little caloric intake as it is, I would suggest 6 meals a day and one end of the day small snack for the fat/protein an hour or so before sleeping. This will help to keep the portion sizes down while meeting your nutritional needs. If you were to eat the same number of meals you are now, and up the portions, it would just get stored as fat.

If you want to know how best to balance out the CPF ratio for each meal I would suggest asking Jodi if she can give you some pointers. Have you read the stickies?

See here, on the calculator

Resting (basal) metabolic rate: 1883 calories per day
Typical daily activities: 1064 calories per day
Calories burned from Running: 1468 per day
Total calories burned: 4416 per day

That's on a running day (3x per week) so I have to make sure I get around 619 calories per meal for SIX MEALS. Believe me it seems like a lot of food and it would seem to most like I'm overeating, but knowing how many calories you're going to burn, like for me when I'm eating all that food, I still know that I'm going to be in a 400 calorie deficit at the end of the day and everything I'm eating is top quality as it is.
