I started working out and dieting again about ten weeks ago. I have been using designer whey as my only source of protein other than regular food (chicken, fish). After reading through the forums, I learned that whey is not the opimal type of protein for moments other than after a workout. I started looking for something that had proteins that are absorbed slower but didnt find a company that had exactly what I was looking for. Then in one of the forums I learned of Proteinfactory.com and decided to check out their website; I really liked what I saw. I looked through their already created formulas and decided that I would go with two of their products. I was wondering if you guys thought I was on the right track with the products I am planning to buy:

A) Night Formula (to use before going to bed):
25% calcium caseinate
25% soy isolate
25% cfm whey isolate
25% milk isolate

B) Penta Pro (for regular daily use/meal replacement)
20% CFM whey isolate
20% soy isolate
20% egg white
20% calcium caseinate
20% hydrolyzed 1400 (another type of whey)

C) Post workout I plan on just continuing to use my whey by designer protein.

Does this sound good? Has nyone else ordered form proteinfactory? Are they credible?

Thanks

Looks good except I would skip the soy protein. I use Protein Factory, but I customize my own formulas. Soy has been shown to decrease your test levels.

For your night formula substitute the soy for egg.

For daily MRP I'd suggest substituting the soy for milk protein. Just my 2cents though.

I have used the night formula, but yeah the soy kinda bugs me. So I tried a milk/egg 50/50 split, doesn't taste great, but thats life.

thanks, I didnt know that soy had that effect on testosterone. ARe you guys happy with the products from proteinfactory? I was looking through musclemag forums earlier and a lot of people were really bashing them. They were saying that they dont have any studies, they are not legit, and that their protein taste sooo bad that u cant even drink it...

After reading that stuff I kept looking around and found a shake by optimum called pro complex PM that seems like a good alternative for the night formula but it is much more expensive. Optimum also has a regular Pro Complex formula that I could use throughout the day but again it is more expensive than ordering from proteinfactory..

Yes there have been studies and all but I believe two products came out fine, and the two products as I recall were so damn close it didn't matter. I may not have seen all of them though.

As far as how the business is run, well I could say that they have done some things that made them look uncool. Almost any mixed protein or non-whey product is more expensive when its not from proteinfactory.

There is also www.proteincustomizer.com which proteinfactory had sued at one point thinking they were a sister company of someone elses (1fast400.com) which they werent, which left egg on proteinfactories face.

man im confused now... dont think I wanna go with proteinfactory anymore. Ill either go with customizer (which ive heard good stuff from on this forum) or just go with the optimum option instead...

what would you do?

I try to eat my protein so for me its not a big deal, whey would not be a suitable night protein though. The digestion process does slow down at night, so I am not even sure how important this is.

I'm happy with protein factory. Most shakes don't taste to good (especially if you use the hydrolized whey) but you get used to it.

Proteincustomizer all the way.

Its a no brainer, as far as I am concerned.
