Protein utilization question

I have this stuff called pro 5 and its pretty expensive but its seven hour release with whey, casein, and egg albinum.... i take it after a workout and before bed.
I was wondering if i was to just eat some chicken before bed would i get the same amount of release time with meat protein while im sleeping? how long does meat protein get utilized in your system?

Also should i just get some regular GNC whey and will i notice the same results?
 
All of the protein's you have listed have different digestion rates. Whey is the fastest, Egg is moderate, and Casein is the slowest. Eating whole foods pre-bed isn't a bad choice at all. The chicken would probably empty by 2-3hrs. Something rich in protein and slow digesting like Cottage Cheese pre-bed would be a great choice.
 
Is chicken really broken down that quickly? I thought I heard that meats typically took at least 8 hours to break down.
 
Yes, it's broken down and emptied from the stomach that quickly, but it will still be absorbed throughout the course of the night.
