i started the gym in march at 238 , 5 days a week , running , and workouts, eating right , and added Syntha-6 and Muscle Milk to my regimen....i am now down to 186 @ 6"2' and feel this is good enough for me , i can stay at this weight , plenty of energy....starting to cut too , .....My question is , when i do my protein shakes , 3-4 hours later , i get this anxious feeling , its overwhelming , i hate it , its almost like a paranoia, its effecting my daily life, ...and YES , i have slacked up on them , only having a shake every 2-3 days now .........but it still sucks when i have one ....any one had this happen to them ?? any fixes, should i lower the dosage til i can handle it ?? thx for any help and replies .....:thumb:

I'm no expert and I'm not suggesting that this is 100% correct but I found an article that states "Reactions to toxic chemicals found in artificial sweeteners can damage the nervous system, followed by anxiety, depression, increased nervousness....."
Full article is here
Chemical Toxicity: The Mounting Debt Our Bodies Will Pay - Splenda (Sucralose) Toxicity

Muscle milk contains sucralose, a popular artificial sweetener made by replacing the hydrogen atoms in sugar molecules with chlorine. I have to say I'm a little skeptical about it's negative effects since the whole idea is that the body shouldn't be metabolizing it , but I've found a lot of articles citing studies with similar results.

Were you nervous beforehand about taking the protein? Anxious thoughts can lead to disinct mental and physiological symptoms.

thx for the help , i think i will give up on them for a couple weeks and see how i am doing then ....as you said , i will just start eating more whole foods ....i was not nervous at all about taking the protein , as a matter of fact it took over a month to track down what was causing this , it felt like i wasn't the same person....i am on a pretty steady diet now , oats and cup of coffee in the morning, fruit snack mid day , not the best of lunches , p.b. and banana sandwhich , and i guess i need to find a high protein supper to stay on ...i know one thing , i am in a lot more pain 2 days after workouts without those shakes, but at least i can feel my old self coming back .....thx again

Sounds to me your whole diet need retooling. I'd head over to the Diet section and start reading the stickies.

Are you taking the protein with milk? Maybe you have some strange dairy allergy or some shit. Try it with water and see if anything is different.
Is it just that particular brand?

But yeah as repro said, your entire diet is basically shit. Sort that out and you might notice changes.

thats very peculiar. take your protein early in the morning and right after you work. atleast protein doesnt change your mood like it does to this guy...
