Ok, so this is my first rodeo so to speak w/ long distance running. I used to be a sprinter and ran hurdles and relays. Now I'm training for the White Rock 1/2 Marathon and am getting into my longer runs (6+ miles). I have noticed that when I run over 5 miles; when I finish I get horrible cramps in my stomache and lower abdomen. They last for about an hour or more and then go away. Does anyone know what causes this and or what I can do to prevent it?
