First of all I have to tell you that I've found a great website.
ExRx Exercise & Muscle Directory
It has animations of all exercises for all the major muscle groups and I've found it really useful.
From this website I've learned a whole load of anatomy!
For example, when exercising the shoulder, certain exercises are designed to specifically target :
1) Anterior Deltoid
2) Lateral Deltoid
3) Posterior Deltoid
4) Supraspinatus
And a whole list of other strange named muscles for other major parts of the body like the back.
Now here is my question:
Lets say I am exercising the shoulder.
Would it best to exercise all parts of the shoulder, eg 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the above muscle list? Or is it best to focus on one part each workout. e.g Anterior Deltoid for one days worth of shoulder, Lateral Deltoid the next shoulder workout and so on.
