No, I don't think so, unless it's for a prolonged period of time. A lot of amateurs actually do it too to make weight; coaches asking boxers to drop 12 pounds to fight in a lower weight class (which you would think was restricted to the professionals, but you'd be surprised). HS isn't uncommon either (especially nowadays if the past is any indication), but danny, if you are cutting weight, you should rely more on cutting whatever fat you have and primarily water. The lowering of calorie intake a few days out, and then essentially fasting is only if you really need cut a few right before weigh in. And you need to make sure to rehydrate and eat properly immediately following weigh ins.True, but for a Pro.
