Hi all.....ok, here's the story.......

Started taking Creatine (NOW brand). Want to take approx 5 grams a day...no loading phase for me....

I workout around 5:30 pm....when should I take the creatine?
I have read numerous texts on this...

Take all 5 grams before workout? OR
Take all 5 grams after workout? OR
Split it in two..maybe half around 2:30pm then again after workout? That way there is sufficient time to absorb between the two doses?

What do ya all think? Or maybe you think that 5 grams just isn't enough. I weigh 185lbs (not all muscle!! Whah!!)

My goal is to gain size and strength, but not get a bloaty feeling and look.

Thanks very much for reading.......Brian.

Take 5g before your w/o, and 5g after.

Just remember to up your water intake.

I have been taking the creatine with the Gatorade powder, as suggested by other people on here, because of it's dextrose ingredient. 10grams seems like a lot to me? If this causes stomach upset or other gastro problems, is this just a side effect that will diminish with time as you get used to it, or some people just cannot take that much?

Taking creatine pre-workout will not provide additional benefit for your workout since it takes a days to weeks for benefits to take effect.

The best time to take creatie on days you train is pre-workout with your carb and protein shake. This will maximize the amount of creatine your muscles absorb. On non-training days take it with one of your protein or meal replacement shakes.

Thanks for catching my mistake. I meant to type that taking creatine post-workout with protein+carbs is the best way to go.

Sorry for the confusion.
