Remember Canada

Vimy Ridge

At the battle of Vimy Ridge, the Canadian Corps had the autonomy to strategize, plan and fight together under Canadian command. Its mission -- to topple the Germans from a key defensive position -- had been tried and failed in previous attempts by the British and by the French. At Vimy Ridge, Canadians had a chance to show the world what they were made of.
Lest we forget.

Canada is a super power ... ... go canucks.
You have your priorities; we have ours.

I do find your post kinda disrespectful and in bad taste, it is 'Remembrance Day' in Canada and it is a day to remember the 117 000 Canadians killed in war.

Think of it as your Veteran's Day. We honour (yes with an "our") our troops who fought in all the major conflicts and gave their lives. Like my grandfather. He was a medic in WW2.

Canadians have a very distinguished record of serving both as peacekeepers and in military conflicts. They entered World War II some 27 months before Pearl Harbor generated enough reason for the U.S. to come into WWII - I believe the same was the case in WWI.

They have put both their nation and resources on the line many times for freedom, including assisting the United States in establishing early warning bomber and missile defense radar by allowing them use of Canadian territory for installations.

As Americans honor some of their own veterans, it's a neighborly gesture to salute the contributions of our closest North American friend.

Now if you Canucks would only buy some Caribbean island and annex it. . . you need a warm weather province.

Yes, you used to be. Now however your favorite topic is all things American and 99% of the time its to bitch about us. If anything this last election was an American statement on how we dont much give a damn what anyone else in the world thinks. We have a right to protect ourselves and we will do so, and it aint gonna be up to a UN vote neither.

Canada is currently militarily irrelevant anyway. Sure it would be nice to have you on board but we dont really need a few old rusty Canadian Navy frigates bounceing around looking for Taliban or Iraqi submarines.

Im glad you have a day set aside to honor the days when you actually had fighting men worthy of the name. Your right! In those days Canadian bravery, resolve, and quality were second to none. And Canada paid dearly for her freedom with the lives of her son's.

Now however.......you aint worth a shit!........... :barf: .......................Rich

That is real smart, go onto an American message board and say you have a ton of oil. Why don't you just go to the bronx, stand out in the middle of the street, and say you have one million dollars cash in your pocket. Be sure to tell them it is American, I don't know if it would work with Canadian money. :D

Rich, I have ben to Canada prolly a hundred times and they could give a fuck what we do, just so long as we go over there and spend our money they couldn't care less about us.

Being the inquisitive person I am, I went ahead and did a search for the Canadian Mint and came upon a picture. What I found may shock you...

Just as I suspected, Menthos. I thought those commercials were, gay, I never knew they were Canadian. Well, toemato to-mato, I guess.

117,000 canadians died in war? Hah! We'll probably beat that number just with Iraq! :p

Good thing Bush can't find Canada ... :bulb:

That's why the Canadians keep their gasoline prices higher than ours. . .just to throw his scent off. It will likely be NewFoundLand rising up into the next world power with natural resources. . .and everyone knows they better never mess with a NewFie...
