Rest Weeks

Hi Guys - hope you're all doing well -

I thought I would throw this one open to the collective mental might of the forum - see what you think?

I have a rest week in my training programme. It tends to be at week 10. Now I usually do 2 full body workouts a week on Mondays and Fridays (with a couple of runs for cardio on other days). My last work out was Friday.

Now I may be being thick here - but should I go back to the weights on Monday or this friday. It seems to me that Friday will mean I have had a full week off BUT I will have only missed one training session by then - your thoughts please? Ta all! :rocker:

7 days from the last day you trained.

so if you trained on a monday, youd train again on tuesday. 7 days without doing ANY training is a week off. *shrugs*
 
Friday would probably be fine. Since you only lift 2 days a week, you probably aren't pushing your body's recovery capabilities too far in the first place.
 
I'm with Mike on this. The way I see it, your week off didn't actually start until Monday. If you train on Friday, you'll only have had 4 days off... kinda...

Yeah this is pretty straight foward when you think of it - you start counting your days off from the last day you trained not from the next day you would have trained - its logical then that if you trained on the Friday you train again on the Friday -

So with that in mind I'll be doing some on the Friday - thanks all for the views :thumb:
