Saddam was very much non-religious. That didn't stop the Muslims from hanging their hopes of a Middle Eastern country teaching the West "a lesson" on him. He failed horribly and they felt let down.

Exactly, the Arab culture has as noble and not so noble past as any other. Right now the people are in a rut because the "Oil Shieks" have sold them out, they sold all of the oil and gave their people nothing in return, instead they imported everything they own and didn't support their local community as rich pompous assholes like to do, keep the people around them down so they can live as kings, you can't have servants when everyone in your neighborhood drives a car even half as expensive as yours, no sir, you must keep your locals poor, buy from far away lands and even import the most beautiful women from those lands cause your own people are not worthy.....But DOMS dumps on the poor underpriveleged of all nations equally so don't let it bother you, you see he claims he grew up as poor as poor can be, yet he has burned all affiliations to that life so he can become a king and shit on servants....
it seems that you read a lot about historical facts and other cultures , it's really good talking with you maniclion .... but you need to be there to feel it more.....things are kinda different here in egypt , i mean culture wise , it's different than arabic countries but we have the same major problems specially with the goverment ( also we don't have oil here

The guys who owned the business next to where I used to work were Egytian Muslims Naghi and the other guy we called Roj, as in Roger but I know his full name was more difficult. They were very cool and very smart with business', they owned several car rental companies, Loan services, pawn shops, an apartment building and a couple methadone clinics... They were very charitable as well, they gave many people down on there luck, jobs. Men out of prison, mentally ill, addicts and not because it was cheap labor they just didn't like to see people so down and out in paradise from what Naghi told me. their wives and children lived well and never seemed to suffer from abuse. They also gave alot of muslim students temporary jobs who came out here to go to college. One of them I forget his name claimed he was sort of a prince, that Malaysia has several Kings and he is the son of one of them. Him and I were always stoned when we hung out together so I forgot most of what he told me, maybe his father was a sultan or something???? Anyway, then another one of my friends was muslim, he was from Morroco, not very devout though cause he partied like nobody in this world and had a new woman stopping by to see him every week, total player.
