I have been wondering do you really need to work the same muscle directly twice or more in a workout? Like do squats and leg extensions and lunges? Does this make them grow? I was just wondering because after the leg extensions my quads were fried! so I didn't know if doing lunges and squats would really do any good?

ditch the leg extensions and do squats instead.

Ive done volume training for a long time, training multiple exercises in one session. However, having started DC (which we only do 1 exercise per body part), Im thinking Ive wasted a lot of time.

I personally believe concentrating on getting stronger on the big compound exercises is the way to go - squats, bench presses, shoulder presses, rows, deadlifts, etc etc. One exercise per muscle group in a session is enough, although you can alternate exercises on consecutive workouts.

Yeah I only did them today because I couldn't squat but does working the same muscle twice really do any good for it?

there is a certain amount of volume that you are going to need to perform in order to get teh adaptations you seek.

I think you should do at least 2 movements for each body part, BUT do the hard one first. Squat first for example
