Is eating saturated fat ok as a part of an anabolic diet? It doesnlt seem unhealthy to me considering that a few of the stickies on this site say that people went on anabolic diets with foods which contained alot of saturated fats and it worked, and that according to research saturated fat never really harmed anyone with heart disease or any other form of jeopardy.

I don't know of any stickies which endorse high amounts of Saturated fats.

IMO I don't see a problem short term, but it wouldn't be something I would continue with on a regular basis.

Just an FYI diets higher in Saturated Fats have a higher relation to Cardiovascular disease.

Diets high in saturated fats have been shown to increase LDL cholesterol. I'm way too lazy to dig up a study right now but it makes sense to me.

I say if you can meet your fat macro needs with poly and monounsaturated fats, you can't go wrong.

A lot of that is myth. The people that should be concerned are those with existing cholesterol issues. Otherwise, providing you are getting enough n3's and 6's, there is nothing wrong with high amounts of saturated fats.

Alright, thank you.

But now that we are talking about fats, which would you say is more beneficial for an anabolic diet, poly or monounsaturated fats? I hear different things from different people and sources so Im hoping to get a straight and to the point answer.

I know very little about the Anabolic Diet, but what I read recommends a balance of fats.

ok

I just get confused when people do not recommend or include certain oils in their diets like olive oil. It is high in monounsaturated fats so I start thinking that monos aren't good for muscle growth.
