I have a million of them, but just thought of one in particular. I bought a pair of Reebok DMX running shoes from Just For feet in Daytona like 6 years ago. Within a month, the soles completely wore out to where the DMX portion of the shoe was no longer functional given that there was no bottom to 3 of the air chambers.

So I dilly dallied a bit and brought them back after another month. I showed the customer service guy the the shoes which looked completely brand new except for the fact that they were missing half of the sole. He asked me how it happened and I told him that I generally run 5 miles 5 mornings a week and by the end of a month they were trashed. He got his manager to come over and make the return, but the manager said there was no way I could return them. I asked him why and he said that obviously the shoes would wear out faster since I was running in them every day and that he didn't run and his shoes generally last 3 months. So I said, "I pay $100 for a pair of RUNNING shoes and I am not supposed to run in them?" Anyway, I stood there and bitched for 15 minutes and when I realized that I wasn't going to get my money back, I Accidently knocked over a shelf full of shit on my way out.

Anyone else have any gems?

Dell dared to suggest that my smashing of their monitor in a fit of rage was somehow not covered by the warranty. :wtf:

thats fucking stupid!

first off, i would never pay that much for shoes....ever

but if i had....which i wouldnt ever....i would not have let them off so easily

any time i get ripped off like that i ALWAYS do whatever i can to....make it right...or whatever

anyway you should have called some one higher up than the manager, and complained

I'm an absolute diehard Ford fan. I've owned at least one Ford every minute of my life since I got my driver's license and their records prove it. Imagine my pissedoffedness when they refued to change a radiator hose that had been damaged because THEY installed it wrong. The only thing the Maintenance Manager would say is that "Hoses aren't covered under warranty." I damn near wrung his stupid neck. Then, to make matters worse, I called Ford Motor Company Customer Service in Detroit and they told me it was a dealership matter and they couldn't help me. EXCUSE ME??? It's a FORD dealership! WHY can't you help me? Their only response was that if I had a complaint about the truck they could help me. I screamed "I DO HAVE COMPLAINT ABOUT THE TRUCK!!!" So this story doesn't run too long, I finally got ahold of some sort of maintenance manager in Detroit who was well aware of the exact problem I was having. He said they were in the process of writing a recall about that very thing, it just hadn't made it to the dealerships yet. So I asked what my next step was and he told me the recall should be out in about a month. I told him my hose was leaking NOW. He told me I'd have to pay for the maintenance up front and then I'd be reimbursed. What a fucking crock. The happy ending is that I did get my money back. I also got rid of that piece of shit truck and got a new one..................................yep, a Ford. :D

First of all I would find out who the manager reports to and call or write to him directly. I run myself and generally you are supposed to replace shoes every 300-500 miles. Also if you have a lot of wear in one area you may need different shoes that support that area. Sorry about your unfortuante incident. I would suggest next time going to a runner store if you can and talk to people who actually run, not some uneducated manager who's never ran and is telling you how long your running shoes should last.

On another note I had a totally unrealted bad customer service story. When redline first came out they didn't mention how much caffeine is in one serving so I tried to call them to see. I don't generally take products with a lot of caffeine but wanted to try it out. The guy that answered said he didn't know and the person that did wouldn't be in for a few more hours. I asked him if I dialed the right cutomer service number and he said yes. Then I asked if there was anyone else there that might know, and he said this isn't really his dpeartment and I would have to call back later. You would think a big company like that would be able to answer such a simple question.

You now have access to the best source of info on that and other VPX products right here. Ask GOPRO, he's da' man. :thumb:

I dunno how long this happened but I remember a crappy customer service story. Well, my young sister is in a wheel chair. (Remember the few of you I told?) She, my mother and myself go to this reasurant (which I don't remember which one). Mom asks the host that its party of 3, one is in a wheel chair. 45 minitues later, the host comes back and says that there is no wheel-chair accessible tables anywhere. Man, was my mother livid!!!! :hot: :teeth: :flipoff2: :whip: :2punch: :bash: :flipoff: :fire: :yell:

They won???t do a "return" but it is a defect; so they should do an exchange, BUT they might have a 30 day return/exchange policy.

Remember they only listen to their boss and do as their told.

I would find a Reebok number and call them and see what they can do, they KNOW of the DMX problem. DMX sucks the squeak and pop all the time.

And a running shoe should last 6 months if you wear them every other day.

:wtf: is wrong with you? LOL

I had a shitty costomer service experience too.
Anyone familiar with a store called Brookstone? Its all over the malls in my area; they sell rare shit for way too much money. And since noone else sells it they do pretty good :P
Well I bought this neat lil caller ID "Infoglobe" which has the information float due to fast spinning LEDs for a friend for christmas; 3 months down the road it broke ;( I didnt keep the reciept either. Well, I voulenteered to take it back.. And boy was I ready.. The whole day before I went I was thinking of the possible situations to come up, esp with no reciept. I had a solution for every possible problem by the time I got there; and I was NOT leaving without a new globe or my money back($50 caller ID, Lol). So I went in, told this girl I wanted to exchange this, 'cuz "it sucks" She lead me to the counter, went in back and got her manager. He came out, asked what was wrong with it; I told him..
Then he went into the back,

came out with a new globe and said,"Here you go."
!?!?!?!? :wtf:
As it turns out, the ONE possible situation I wasnt prepared for was that I wouldnt get any trouble. I was seriously shocked, I even asked,"Thats it?" I had come into the store prepared for a fight and my opponent didnt show. I left the mall still in shock, and kind of angry that I didnt get my fight. Anyways, thats the worst experience Ive ever had with customer service :p

That is ROTTEN.

Here is my story I guess. I was one of the first DSL customers in my area, because I got tired of waiting for fiber to be run for cable internet. I was having problems virtually every weekened, and only on the weekends. One time when I was on the phone with them, I think for 45 minutes - I was on hold and hung up. I called back right away and was left with a message that the support line closed HALF AN HOUR AGO!!! Now its a 24/7 line I believe.

I was getting about 768 access or so (I was hitting 85kB/s tops) and due to the random weekened issues they offered to bump me down to 384, and I told them NO that is clearly not the issue as it works great on the weekdays and on the weekends when it DOES work, its litterally 9600bps or some crap then it dies in 2 minutes reset after reset. So I said DONT bump me down, they DID ANYWAY!!! This was after I was told they would not. I know they figure everyone is a dumbass, but I knew that the service issue had nothing to do with speed on the line.

I agree with NT and that Ford sucks. :) Imo. They ever hear of resale value???

:haha:

I drive a Ford.

It was 5 years ago, Just for Feet may now be closed.

Funny thing is, 2 years later I found a pair of DMX that had a normal bottom but with the DMX chambers, ie not the spiderman sole, and they wore out just as fast. I will never buy Reebok running shoes ever again. They make good tennis shoes, however.
