It is worth noting that if these illegal immigrants have legit jobs (non cash pay/under the table) then they will pay into SS through the taxes that get removed from their paychecks. I'm not stating they should get benefits, but that your overly dramatic comment is not entirely accurate.

Also, you should post links to the actual bills that are being referenced. Without that information, it's impossible to understand the finer details of them and why, perhaps, these Senate members voted in the way they did. You will notice that 11 Republican Senators voted for this "money to undeserving illegals" bill. While not an overwhelming number, it's clearly not a partisan vote. Therefore, most likely, the bill was far more complex than your description implies.

Even though it's not entirely true, it's no secret that the Dems would sell out the us to Mexico if they thought it could get them one more vote.
Please, provide factual information that Democrats are interested in selling out this Nation to Mexico.

The rest of your post means jack shit. They are here illegally. If they want to move to the US, they need to start by obeying the immigration laws.
Please explain why it means jack shit. I identified a factual inaccuracy that is necessary to fully understand the current subject matter.

Just to support my argument further...
The subject of the proposed amendment was not about giving (or denying) Social Security benefits to illegal aliens; it was about whether a select group of formerly illegal workers (i.e., those who might obtain legal immigration status if the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006 were enacted) should be able to receive credit for payments they made into the Social Security system using phony Social Security numbers (i.e., numbers that were invalid or had been assigned to others). Such persons would still be eligible to collect Social Security benefits in the future; they just wouldn't receive credit for payments they had already made into the system.

True, they are here illegally and should be subjected to the rules of current legislation. However, as I said before, there is a factual inaccuracy in the statement that they "DIDN'T PAY IN A DIME." Spreading grossly inaccurate information does a huge disservice to those without the ability to further seek out the truth.

It's all over the place.

Some of the Republicans tried to pander to that voting group, and promptly got shot down by the rest. Not so for the Democrats.
That doesn't prove they are "selling out" to Mexico. Rather, it shows they are seeking votes from a population that, if given the right incentive, will vote for them. Illegal immigrants shouldn't be able to vote, so only the legal immigrants will have that ability. It's no different than Republican candidates pandering to the Bible belt of the southern United States. The party members stick to the constituent groups that will win them votes.

If they did pay any taxes, it was with someone else's social security number. That's another crime; but they're Mexicans, so it's okay.

And how will they do that? By easing border security, by not making English the official language of the US, and by offering to make illegals American citizens.

That's selling out the US.

Why do you keep avoiding my single point? I'm not talking about the legality of their actions. I'm not talking about the impact on other citizen's benefits. I'm simply talking about the factual inaccuracy that they did not contribute money to the SS fund.

I did cover that. They did it by using someone else's social security number! That's the only way an illegal can pay taxes. The commited another crime. You are you one that's doing the avoiding.

Do you agree or disagree with the statement that these workers "DIDN'T PAY IN A DIME" to Social Security?

I don't want to seem like I'm interested in tag-teaming you with my friend DOMS here, nor do I want to create the illusion that I entirely agree with him ... he is a bit blinded by his partisan political system mentality. You do seem to see that the system is flawed but appear to not visualize where the flaws exist. Maybe I can help ...

ANY person that comes here illegally and works a legal job and gets paid following federal guidelines needs a social. We agree there. Here is where the perspective gets twisted a little. Julio may work under that table for cash or Julio may know that Working as an independent contractor he needs pay nothing to the SSA. Not one single dime. Julio ... LOL ... he knows this because the Mexican government has issued publications on HOW.

Now say Julio gets a temporary job lasting only a few weeks needs only a bogus number to satisfy the pencil pushers. This bogus number gets the box checked related to specifics of documentation ... not authenticity. The money goes out sure ... NP. Doesn't go back to the illegal worker though right? Wrong ... every time that worker's kid gets sick and hits the medical system free of charge that money gets used up ... and then some. Yes part of SSI is used to fund hospital relief under the federal system. That's only one of several ways an illegal alien gets way past his due paid into the SSA. Housing, food, medical, and even no-money-down interest free home loans are also sources of over payment. Sucks but it's true. That's on a bogus number ...

With an illegally used number that actually gets through the system undiscovered ... you'd be amazed at how many people out there have no clue about their SS info because they either NEVER look, or they are of diminished capacity and are in the care of someone else who NEVER needs credit ... the federal flood gates open a little more. The people that sell this info know where to look for the types of social security numbers that will fly under the radar. So Julio get's his number, gets his beni's and is off to the federal system looking for all his freebies. That's with a real number illegally used ...

LOL ... this is the one that we all hate and really sucks. If Julio can get hooked up ... and it's as easy as making one phone call ... Julio gets assigned a temporary social. Julio is then allowed to apply for ALL GOVERNMENT AID at all levels until his resident status is defined. The flood of federal money is his to swim in. He can work with a bogus social for a few months, switch numbers and work the same job most times, and so on. He uses the real number with the federal gov to receive beni's because he is unemployed in their eyes and needs money to live on while he awaits a designation on his status. After Julio's immigration status is categorized he gets to keep the temporary number for life. All while not paying in a single dime to the system. I'm too short on time to dig it up right now, but I saw a report that totaled the amount of social security monies sent to Mexico. I mean to say illegal immigrants denied permanent visa status, sent back to Mexico who then applied for a disability check for say ... ADD for a child ... and who were approved. That's only one way ... there are a few more as you can imagine. Julio knows them all ...

So when you ask if Julio pays into teh federal SS system, he MAY ... but not often and not anywhere close to what he gets back. Fact is Julio may pay absolutely nothing at all. We're all getting robbed by Julio. Julio uses a phone, a pen, and we get jacked.

Shit Mancia may be on to something pretending to be a Mexican ...

I appreciate the effort (and lack of namecalling, inflammatory remarks, etc.) you put into that response. However, as with DOMS, it doesn't directly respond to the only thing I'm in here talking about; That all caps phrase in the original post isn't factual.

I like how you referenced two present threads in that post. Nice. Nice read. I am 25, working full-time, paying taxes, own a home and I don't know wtf is happening with my SS. I keep hearing that I probably won't even see it when I retire. What can I do about it? Vote? Thats about it. I try not to clutter my mind with all these politics. It just seems like your always getting fucked by the government. It could be worse. I could have been born in a third world country or even IRAQ.

Called a Roth IRA I suggest you get one.

Do you agree or disagree with the statement that these workers "DIDN'T PAY IN A DIME" to Social Security?

I disagree with it. The did pay some (a pittance really) to SS; but they did it by stealing someone else's identity. Which is a fucked up crime and doesn't mean that they should get shit. They certainly shouldn't be given anything event approaching the rights of a citizen.

he is a bit blinded by his partisan political system mentality.

Fuck you very much for your misdiagnoses.

I don't tow the Republican line. I always espouse my own opinion. The only reason that I like the Republicans is that they share more of my opinions than the Democrats. That, and I think that the Democrats are nothing more than politically correct, spineless, douche bags; who are so sick of being the losing party that they'd sell out their country to the Mexicans and Europeans if they thought it would get them more votes.

I addressed it directly ... no wiggle room. As a person working as an independent contractor the employer takes no taxes from Julio's check. He can run that scam for several years then switch numbers while all the time collecting social security beni's that I'm ineligible to collect through his temporary social.

Man they ALL sell us out none less than the other. As long as you continue to think one party is better than the other you are part of the problem. The both suck, they both robb us blind and they both do what ever pandering, deceptive, shell-game bullshit they can to get our money.

There are two reasons that I like the Republicans more than the Dems.

1. They tend to sell out to Foreign interest less often than the Dems.
2. The Dems come off as wimpy and ineffectual. Which I loath.

Yeah, I know they're both scummy, but the Republicans tend to share my views more than the Dems.

Psssst ... :dont: ... I was in the Young Republicans in college. LOL I do also identify with what they SAY they espouse. Sux that neither one actually does anything more than pretend. It's why I have disassociated my self from them all and just vote the issues as much as I can. Democrat or Republican sponsoring the bill er what ever has no bearing on my vote ... only the content. I know as soon as I say the Democrats suck balls then the Republicans will steal a few billion dollars from the economy. The pro-business stance from the Republicans is just as bas as the overly liberal stance on issues the Democrats take.
