I just started working out again after a 4 month lazy period. I gained 40 lbs. Yesterday I did 30 miutes of cardio broke up in 3 inutes intervals. Between intervals I lifted weights. After I was done I threw up, this wasn't to hard of a work out why would I get sick?

maybe beause you haven't trained in 4 months and are now 40lbs over weight????

yeah its probably because of you long layoff from working out, your body probably just wasnt used to it and you shocked it by starting up again...

start up slowly.... your body can't take a hard workout anymore. ease into it.

thanks for the answers, I started 80 lbs over wieght in the beginning, I don't think I am sick and I started up very slow for where I was on my workouts. I took a day off and will try again to night. Is it odd for someone to get sick from a workout?

it is pretty common, but you may not be getting enough carbs/water in you pre workout meal...not right before but 1-1/2 hours or so before, but ive had the same problem, but alot of the time from intensity(for me only leg days)thats the only time i ever feel it. just make sure your not starting too fast into intense lifting, you kinda have to ease your body back into the routine of things

I like your name chuckufarley, what does it mean?

I get nauseous after a really hard w/o. It lets me know I left everything I had on the gym floor.

Well, me personally when I'm working out I don't ever feel sick. It's always 1 - 2 minutes afterward i'm through and my breathing is returning to normal that I throw up ( if I do indeed throw UP ) and usually after some hard cardio. At my school we usually do our workout leg or chest then we go onto the track and run a Leopard ( Lorena Leopards ) which is a 400 ( 1 lap ) at a dead sprint.
