Skimmed milk powder? is it just as 'good' as a supplement costing x4 as much?

Hi
i wonder if you could help me with this one, i am trying to put on some muscular weight and feel i need more protein in my diet.
i live on quite a narrow budget and unless i really cut it to the bone i simply cannot afford the many kinds (brands) of whey protein supplements that are advertised.

At my local Tesco supermarket over here in the UK, I can buy 450gms of skimmed milk powder for £1.90p, so 2kgs of it cost about £9.60 or so

A typical whey protein supplement after looking on various sites and Ebay costs between £25 to £40 depending on brand/quality/packaging for a similar weight.

So what does the skimmed milk powder NOT do for me compared to a typical whey supplement,

The tesco powder contains simply dry skimmed milk powder + added vitamin A and D, no preservatives no added sugar, sweetners etc etc

For every 100gm dry weight it supplies 36gms of protein

Your adviced would be greatly appreciated
Cheers Will :nerd:
