I noticed that the tuna that I eat has a lot of sodium in it...more than any other single source that eat during the day. I was wondering if you guys think that rinsing it out before eating would help remove some of the sodium, or do you think that it is IN the meat itself? Thanks.

Tuna itself is very high in sodium.

Sodium has a direct reflection on how much water you retain. The more sodium the more you retain water. If your a person that has a problem with water retention, try to cut out all but 2400mg of sodium per day. You should notice a diff. by the end of the week.

I dont worry about my sodium unless I'm worried about water retention... photo shoot, competition, etc... but for general day to day stuff... I salt everything... including canned tuna :p

Don't worry about the sodium in your Tuna. That doesn't mean go adding salt to all your food though. Most foods you eat contain sodium in. Just make sure your drinking 5-6 Liters of water a day. :D

Don't sweat it............sodium is anabolic:thumb:

Just repeating what has already been said........I only worry about low sodium if I'm concerned with water retention BUT I never add salt to my foods.

yes..rinsing will elminate some of the sodium..i would suggest buying low sodium if you can spend a little more.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm at 4 liters now Jodi, I'll try to work up to 5.
