I gather that the ban on prohormones in the United States has taken place simply because the authorities have come to the conclusion that with improper use the substances can be harmful, and I too have become aware that some people simply take the substances without being fully aware of the side effects or how to combat them.
On the other hand as someone else pointed out in a earlier posting, THERE IS STILL A DEMAND for the product...and when there is a demand, undoubtedly there will always be a supply, yetthe prices will be higher and the quality inferior.
As outrageous as it might seem, if the simple problem is uneducated people taking the product, why don't they simply make people take a 30 minute test on computer or in a testing centre, (ie select gyms within each state) to show that they are mentally able to grasp the effect behind the product and demonstrate that they know when and how to take the product, and in return for successfully passing, obtain a prescription to some degree, in which you can then purchase the product from a pharmacist?

On the downside peole might retaliate with the argument that people who have passed the test will simply sell on the products, and of course then within the test there should be a clause agreeing not to distribute to anyone, and if abused there will be penalties.

-anyway just a quick thought.

I just looooooove how the gov't compares ph's to steroids, when they aren't even in the same universe.

elaborate....

in other words, the media makes a big fuckin' frenzy over nothing (McGwire and Andro, BALCO, Bonds etc.), so all of a sudden people are "outraged", so now the Gov't thinks they must do something to "appease" people, therefore banning prohormones.

Hmmmm.... fuck the government.

They're already into everyone's daily lives WAAAAAAY too much as it is. Let me put into my body what I want to put into my body. It's MINE. Not your's uncle SAM.

This country is utterly pothetic. Why should we try to eliminate natural selection? I coulda' swore "god" wanted to get rid of the dumbasses through this form anyway?

LOL

I think most people are fully aware of the side effects and how to combat them, but simply don't care. "I want it now who cares

There are many people who increase the dosage because they feel it will give them better results faster and don't really care about the increased risk side effects.

Some people stay on their cycles too long, and I would venture to say some probably either don't respond to the positive results and are genetically at a larger risk of the side effects, or may have even adapted to the normal dosages and feel they have to increase for it to be effective.

I do believe that it is the abuse of these substances that have created the need for the ban.
Athletic associations take heat for not testing properly for substances, not banning subtances soon enough, etc, and the FDA takes heat for not regulating these substances.

In the end, too many at fault, too many loop holes, and too many lawsuits.
Make them illegal and it's between you and the manufacturer.

The only people that are outraged are sports writers that need something to talk about..

If this were true answer me one question: Why is alcohol and tobacco still legal?

Since PH's will be classified as a class III drug you would have to be a fool to risk a felony charge buying them, in other words get the real thing instead.

Because the government does not give a shit about the steroids, big organizations like MLB, NFL and the Olympics do, they pressure the government and the government responds.

.

In regards to your response.

Well of course you would point the finger at tabacco and alcohol, and the reason WHY they are around is yet unlike PH's they have had 100's, and in the case of alcohol 1000's of years to establish themselves within society, and you are wrong on one thing --The government actually did try to abolish alcohol due to the harm it was causing, I am sure you are familiar with 'PROHIBITION' , but due to it enormous demand and the small enforcement agency put to work against it..it obviously failed. And Tabacco, slowly but surely is becoming less tolerated and banned, I mean look at New York.

Yes it will be considered a Class III drug, but PH's will be much easier to come by, and you can probably be assured by the quality, all you would need to do is go abroad and stick them in a vitamin box, I thoroughly doubt they will Test your tablets to see if they are PH's, but I would still agree that you might as well go all the way if you are in the US.

Furthermore I see that you point the finger at larger organisations on applying pressure on the government to ban them, like it is all their fault.. WHY? They have sufficient tests to be able to regulate their players. And By banning it they know perfectly well that it won't go away. So I query the motive.

you can't tell me steroids are more dangerous than tobacco and/or alcohol.
cigarettes and booze have killed 100% more people than steroids ever have.

Where did I tell you that Steroids are more dangerous then tabacco or alcohol? Thats rubbish, i never even indicated that, let alone stated it.

And regards to Rob, I don't see why there is such a aggressive approach on your belhalf to my general opinion. - But Whatever, everyone has their point of view.

because it is a subject that I am very passionate about, and I disagree with what you posted.

but don't take it personally, I just come off that way. ;)

there must be a misiterpritation somehow about what I am saying, all i am saying in a 'Nutshell' is...I think its kinda shitty that they are making another substance go underground, I AM NOT UNDER ANY CIRUMNSTANCES doubting that many legal drugs kill 1000's of people each year...no shit of course they do.

now that I agree with!

it is stupid and just like with steroids it makes things worse not better.

And let us not forget that doctors are the third highest cause of death in the US.

Let's ban doctors too

Doctors, lawyers, mechanics, and thieves...
