Spanish Rice?

Is spanish rice considered brown rice, (its the color brown after cooking).

Or is it just white rice with a brown colored flavoring?

If it is white rice.. is it still okay to eat while cutting, because i just bought like, 5 packages.

Nope.

Spanish Rice

1/2 small onion, chopped
1/2 small green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 teaspoon olive oil
2 cups uncooked rice
4 cups water
3/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce

Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Cook onion and uncooked rice in the oil for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in the bell pepper, water, chili powder, garlic powder and tomato sauce.

Heat to boiling over high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, cover and simmer about 25 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

Makes 6 Servings
Serving Size: 1 cup

I wouldn't suggest it for a serious cut but if your trying to shed a few pounds I don't think it will be to bad as long as it fits into your daily calorie range.

If you are looking for brown rice do what I did...went to a bulk supplier and bought a 50lbs bag of brown rice. Hasn't let me down yet! Love that bag it will last me my entire cut LOL.

I got a sams card so I could buy some things in bulk. Wouldn't ya know it, they don't sell brown rice, only white and yellow ... :|...

That's ok ... the 10lb bag of chicken I got will make up for it over time ...

Yea I go to resturaunt depot thats in my area. I buy wholesale bulk items LOL...all the bags of chicken I get are anywhere from 30-50lbs and I get full slabs of sirloin...entire pork loins. I do everything in bulk except eggs b/c I don't have the storage space for em.
