You know you are excited about this. Guilty pleasure.

I saw it yesterday. Of course being the helpless romantic certain scenes I was anticipating more than others... having finally read about the story I knew of certain things but was pleasantly surprised how the movie interpreted them. Many sweet moments...

Who else saw it, going to... thoughts, etc....

I won't share much unless it comes to it, but I'll hold back on saying what happens. It was a sweet story, and a great film, loved it...

Gonna see it tomorrow. :)
I can't wait. Dragging my girlfriend, gonna make her suffer. :rocker:

Aw Max, enjoy it...

I was dragged to the first by someone close as well, and left loving it so this one I was looking forward to. If she is a hopeless romantic like me this one has a lot to keep her "occupied" while most people are enjoying the effects... by the way this time around, are INCREDIBLE. I am sure I'll see it a second time later on once it's been out a while... beautifully done.

I wish she was a hopeless romantic. She's more like a hopeless cynic. She's also the only person I know that didn't like the first one. But she recently made me watch some horrible thing with both Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson naked. :shake: So, it's payback time! :evil2:

Thanx for the preview though, I'm psyched!!!

I've never been a big spider-man fan, but the first movie was OK for me. There was just too much drama and talking and it felt kinda out of place. Now don't get me wrong, I love a good story, but if felt a bit too talky. Maybe if I saw it again I'd feel different.

Still, tit and I will see the next one I'm sure.

however, I did buy the Spiderman 2 video game because I saw a "Making the Video"-like show on Mtv, but they were talking about making the game. And it got my kinda psyched about it. It's really fun, it's modeled street for street after New York City, and its likeness is amazing. Time Square, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, even the Ground Zero memorial is in tact. The whole city is huge, and nothing's cooler than swinging around an actual city like spiderman. There's a street crime for you to solve around every corner, so even the crime rate is accurate to NYC!

let me ask, why is it that we're almost 3 movies into this series and still no Venom or Carnage???

Because the old fart that's making these flicks grew up with the comics before Venom was ever introduced. Thus he's going with villians he "feels comfortable with." I say Venom should've been the villian from the start, but that's just my inner geek ranting. :)

LOL...

I never read the comics themselves, but did a bit of history reading the day before I went and there are zillions of characters... I'm curious as to why they pick who they do... and why they chose THIS SPECIFIC actor to play "Doc Oc" I believe, lmao... I was a bit giggling when he was on screen... something just not believable about him, call me crazy, lol...

I love Toby though... man, a little crush on Mr.Tobes I think, for sure... ;-)

I grew up on the comics. They were my sole preoccupation until puberty hit.

I havent seen it yet, but welcome back Jamie :)

Venom's story is a little far fetch to capture the complete image in the movie.

It's a really complicated/twisted plotline, that would probably turn the movie more into a sci-fi.

And how could've venom been a ''villian from the start'', Peter Parker was the original venom; first bonding with that particular symbiote(sp)

It took a whole movie to introduce Peter Parker as Spider-Man, then in number two they introduce Peter Parker becoming a whole new person with different abilities?
I don't think it would've ever transitioned well.

I don't recall the whole Venom/Carnage series coming into play before the Hob Goblin/Shocker/Rhyno.

For Spider-Man 3 we all know which villian is coming next, and it should be interesting to see the transition in Peter Parker's life.

From the looks of it, it's going to be another Trilogy and they're not even going to bother getting into the more complicated plots.

What's the problem? Have Peter find the suit shortly after becoming SM, struggle with suit, discard it. At the same time he gets Eddie Brock fired. By the mid point of the movie, we got Venom. ;) I know, it's a bit much for the "origin" movie, but Green Goblin as the villain was probably the silliest part of the 1st one. And Doc Oc doesn't really improve matters. They're both kind of......well, lame. Venom was such an antithesis for Spidey, sort of the culmination of all that he feared. Just one great badass of a villian.

By the way, who is gonna be the villian of the 3rd one?

****SPOILERS BELOW****

Ok, so i saw this movie last night... it was garbage. That said, i didnt think spiderman 1 was all that great either... but it looked like "Gone with the wind" compared to this pile of crap. The plot line was so predictable it made you want to try and slit your wrist with your ticket stub. Combine that with every character giving these bizarre "speeches" as their dialog ever 5 minutes, which were so unrealistic it bordered on delusional, and it wasnt exactly a great cinematic experience. The special effects good. But there were quite a few ocassions that make you think "wtf, why didnt they just do xxx"? i.e., the director needed more random action (spidey dancing through the rooftops, doc oc throwing cars around, etc)... so he took liberties with rational thought.

For example, at one point doc oc needs some rare metal to continue his experiment. The only guy that has it is the OzCorp kid (who hates spiderman, if you remember from the 1st movie). So doc oc rampages into his house, holds the kid by his ankle out over the edge of a top of a building, and demands the metal. The kid says "alright alright, just put me down!"... yet as soon as he's down, he says "ok, ill give it to you if you bring me spiderman." Doc oc agrees, and the movie continues. Now wait one fucking minute - doc oc just held this kid out over the edge of a building to get what he wanted, and now all of a sudden he grudginly agrees to go on this scavenger hunt for this ozcorp kid? Why not just say "how about no, give me the metal or i drop you off the building"?? It's stuff like that that pisses me off.

But anyway, the worst part is definitely all the characters in the movie giving these long melodramatic speeches every 5 minutes. When you see it, you'll see what i mean. Picture your aunt walking up to you and randomly giving you an emotional discourse in how to "dig deep" to "find yourself" and then walking away. AEUGH!

But hey, generally movies i hate everyone else loves (i.e. kill bill 1). ;)

The end of the second one where Harry finds that his father had built a second Glider and explosives; foreshadows the comming of the Hob Goblin in the third movie.

It may be a combination of villians though seeing as how they usually tended to gang up to beat spiderman. Which I hope is what will happen in the third one, or else the action scenes will just be a repeat of the first with the glider maniac scenes.

I definitely agree in the sense that the plotline was predictable, but unfortunately it's easy enough to predict a movie based on a comic book series. The hero always triumphs in the end, getting beaten the living crap out of in the process.

I wanne see this tomorrow, I will try to see it in between my Star Trek convention and George Lucas' online Star Wars chat.

I'll see you there Dale. I'll be the "Mr. Spock" with no pants on. :eyebrow:

Well I saw this movie by myself tonight....because apparently I'm not good enough for some people to even call...but anyways, lol. I wasn't a huge fan of the first movie, but thought it was okay. Spidey 2...eh...again okay, but I could have waited till it came out on DVD. Highlight for me was the chick with the violin doing the Spiderman song. :p Oh, that and the Blade Trinity preview.

So did they give a date for Blade 3.....me and some friends have been salivating for that one

so I was dissapointed with this movie. I thought it would be much better but it was basically the same as the first one

I just saw it.. The first part looked like they just stictched toghether a timeline.. some of it was ok.. didnt mind it. Im happy with the ending as opposed to the first one. Finally; Mary Jane has overcome Peter's stupid way of thinking and his life wont have to absolutely suck. I can sleep easier tonight.

Tomb Raider comes to mind.. I hope this upcoming Resident Evil 2 Movie wont follow the pattern.

I just saw Spiderman 2 last night and I really liked it. I mean I liked the first one a lot though, and they were so much alike. I am looking forward to seeing that new Tom Cruise movie, and also the new Will Smith movie, "I,Robot" or something.

Yea, I thought it was decent too. I guess you have to be a fan to like the marvel movies you can't just jump right into it like some of my friends did and they all didn't like it as much as I did.

I Robot looks good as well, another movie coming up I'm looking forward to seeing is the new King Aurthur movie which comes out this wednesday.

I saw fahrenheit 9/11 the other night as well, it was somewhat enjoyable. Even if you're a republican or not even an American the facts that Michael Moore points out in the movie really have an impact on you. Though, not all theatres are choosing to play it.

The problem is theyre not facts. It's like getting your news from a TV political advertisement.

Have you seen it yet?

They're not just accusations that can't be supported. This isn't the typical Michael Moore movie, and if you haven't seen it read some other reviews.

I saw it the day it came out. And yes, they are mindless accusations. He edits clips together in an effort to appeal to the lowest common denominator - the lobotomized, uneducated masses who dont want to bother reading actual documented information... but just want to be entertained. I mean, hell, wouldnt it be a lot more credible if he listed sources for all of this shit he dug up? Or gave some context to it all? Or even had some opposing viewpoints? Those are all trademarks of real documentaries.

Moore produced a social mindfuck, and people are eating it up. And the problem is, these people are too lazy or too stubborn to try and confirm any of his assertations. It wouldnt be so bad if they werent allowed to vote, but they are.

That statement alone says alot.. Moore is known for using supported,"factoids." His movies are known to be interpreted truth, and rationalization from that truth. People who share his views, or sometimes those neutral see it and take it as the truth that(Name bad ppl here) have been hiding.. And people with opposing views name it as complete lies, and can ussually come up with ways to support its all untrue.
That said, I havent seen it.. Ill see it if my friend wants to go, but I wont go out of the way.. Theres very little merit to,"truth" these days.. If I see this movie Ill only leave having learned a story, one which MM claims to be true.. But I would have to be a fool to believe him. The political bullshit is so deep these days only someone paid to dive in and follow each turd to the owner could figure it out.. and if he doesnt like the toilet he came up, he can lie and say it was someone elses crap. And thats what happens.. So when someone uncovers the truth and reports it; all you can say is,"Thats nice" and pat them on the head.

But like I said.. the majority of people have picked their views; thats their,"truth" and whenever somebody reports that they're right, hes telling the truth, and when somebody says they're wrong, he lies. Its disgusting IMO. I dont care to understand politics in this country anymore; All I plan to do is live my life and do what makes me happy.
of course.. :blah:

LOL, I agree. But how would we stop stupid people from voting? I propose reenacting the voting tax for one. Like $50 to $100 would do. We need people who know success(even modest success) to decide who will lead this coutry, not people who are to foolish to make decent $, and unable to save for a 1 time fee. Ive had people throw fits at me for this view :D One that comes to mind in particular is a woman who said her husband made 30K a year, and she made 10k, because she had to watch the FIVE kids, so how could they afford $200 to vote. Needless to say I lost intrest and respect real fast in what she thought. If anything I pitied the children.

Just for fun, Ill point out here- Im Pro-abortion :) Not pro life or choice.. If your kid wasnt planned, you shouldnt have one. If you have any strong doubts about how you're going to do X, you shouldnt have kids. This would lower crime rates, and taxes as well.

Also, If you're currently, or within the last year accepted welfare, disability because you're obese, unemployment(maybe only if current here.. shit does happen), section 8 housing(projects as well) you get the idea..
Also, breaking alot of laws should permanentely suspend you from voting, and some laws should temp suspend you.

Somehow I was expecting to read something about Spidey, but I see this post took somekind of a u-turn and wound up in the Farenheight 911 thread. Anyways, I haven't seen Spidey 2 yet, and I'll probably bypass it until it's available at Blockbuster.
