Sadly, a real freak accident. He died doing something he enjoyed. We should all be so lucky.

I always said that I would laugh my ass off when he fucked with the wrong animal and died. I was wrong.
I was sad when I heard the news. The guy had 10lb balls of steel, and made an impression on people.

I see so many people making such remarkable and critical statements about Steve Irwin. I suppose it all depends on your perspective of his work.
Let's not forget, he was not the first one to engage in this sort of work and lifestyle. Mutual of Omaha's Wild_Kingdom was doing this years before he was born!

Too True. I'll never forget the scene of the young guy wrapped by an anaconda and the film crew rushing to free him! That was Awesome TV for it's day!
