apart from all the " increase your penis size" email that appears in my junk folder, i get some weird subject headings as well. I have no idea what they actually mean but somewhere in there is a sentence waiting to be found.

here is but one of the latest samplings:

bright coed greenhouse cambodia syntactic...

The coed i know about but the rest of it is gibberish.

anyone else care to share your weird subject junk mail.?

I have been also getting these for about 2 months now. They started off with one or 2 a week now they are up to 2-3 daily. Its NOT just in the subject line there is an entire message hidden in the source with a font color that matches the foreground colour. I am beginning to think it could be related to a running cipher/cryptology system for clandestine organizations (possibly terrorists) to communicate via SPAM. And they have an amazingly good vocabulary too and use very very complex words that few non-literary people seldome see in their lifetimes.

It would be a perfect mechanism for communication. Think about it. If you were an illegal or clandestine organization that was constantly on the run (e.g. Al Qaeda) and had no idea were your operatives where at any point in time how could you exchange e-mail or communicate anonymously? Junk mail! Just have your agents ???opt-in??? at any internet location with their laptops using anyone???s e-mail account and sit back and wait for the SPAM to arrive. Since most of this SPAM uses a font color that matches the background color most average people do not even notice this ???hidden??? text. All the operatives need to do is ???show source??? from the options or change the color of the foreground and it suddenly shows up like disappearing ink. Then if you know what code sequence is active for a specific week you just read it like a kid with a decoder ring. It???s also a way to ratify that the sender is who they say they are since it will only decode properly and make sense if certain phrases are always present.

Frankly it may also just be a bunch of Asians (the most notorious of the Spammers) passing the time in the thousands of internet cafes with get rich quick schemes that they are advertising in local magazines (Foreigners have picked the USA consumer as the biggest and most gullible cow to be milked). At any rate the words could be a way for the Spammers to run statistics and keep track as to which ???cell??? is actually responsible for that particular advertisement. Multi level marketing only works if you can reimburse the "downline" that is reponsible for generating the revenue. It could be nothing more devious than this.

It???s a mystery to me too at the moment and I am surprised that no one has investigated it and done a news article on it. Could be innocent but I suspect its all tied to money and communication or victimizing us in some way. But its undoubtedly a sign of deliberate and intelligent organized activity of some sort.

I did some rapid investigation on this after posting. This is catching a lot more attention than I thought. It appears that some of it is nothing more than a mechanism to confuse SPAM filters that operate on key words such as ???BUY??? ???AMAZING??? etc. But there are more devious things going on as I indicated in my first reply. This is getting very interesting the more I research. Some are even thinking it could be a way ???verbalize??? a Trojan or worm instruction code into text (like mime) to feed a prior Trojan installed on your PC.

Wow, this is getting intriguing. I found a number of research papers on publicly available software for generating this kind of SPAM as a means of clandestine communication. When I tried to visit the 5-6 referenced sites they are ???not available???. Based on this I would say that there is a major Homeland Security push right now to try and stifle the availability of this kind of software. It looks like it is a real problem and they don???t know what to do about it since the software is already widely available.

Apparently there are even a lot of the porno sites that are using stenographically encoded and watermarked images to embed encoded messages for the bad guys. So the next time you all look at a porno site???s images you might want to think about the possibility that what you are looking may very well be an instrument of foreign communication that they are using to mock us and pass instructions with. That sexy female may be hiding a deadly message inside her vagina that is much worse than the SDT she is probably carrying in real life.

They are using our own multi-trillion dollar communication infrastructure that we paid for from GDP and using the tools of our vices to undermine us (capitalistic SPAM, porno and PCs etc). I am convinced now that they are literally laughing their asses off at us and expect to destroy us with our own devices. In a manner of speaking they are demonstrating that our own pluralistic standards of morality will be our downfall. From their perspective it must be akin to digitally hanging us with the weight of our own moral sins. This is precisely the cultural mindset of the enemy and would be an expected avenue of attack. I am sure that they gleefully find the ???justice??? of this technique appealing and extract their energy from the knowledge that all their feelings of humiliation of the past will be overcome when they get the last laugh and leave the world in chaos.

Didn???t mean to hijack this thread into a Al Qaeda dissertation but this is real boys and girls. This is a fight to the death and a battle of the cultures and the evidence is all around us.

You think too hard...

I got one this morning that said "watch these women wet themselves in public" just thought I'd share.

"watch pretty women fuck ugly guys" was the one today. i had a hard time figuring out if this was something from al qaeda or actually a porno invitation. i really wanted to look at it ( seeing as how i am one of those- ugly men that is, not pretty woman ) but now, after reading ocean dude's comments, i don't want to contribute to lgobal terrorism. it is bad enough that i contirubte to global warming...

like i don't have enough on my plate to be concerned with....

Why go through the trouble of putting hidden messages in spam? Why not just post in threads in relatively harmless forum's or put up a few dozen free websites, how do we know some of these journals aren't cryptic messages giving coordinates of targets or even for the latest trend called GeoCaching?

Simple. The government watches who visits web sites (many-to-one relationship) and the risk would be too high that they could back track which IP's were posting and reading. With SPAM its sent to millions in one mass mailing (one-to-many relationship) and it woulld be impossible to determine if somone was just on the list by accident or by intent.

OD,

Your theory is, shall we say.......out there. ;)

I know SB. But it's fun to think about and there is a fair amount of research ongoing about it.

so can i open the mail about the pretty chick fukking the old ugly guy or not? i'm dying here! :D

Do so at your own risk. Chances are it's just a plain ol vanilla porno site. But I bet it will download a bunch of malware/adware/trojans to your PC and hijack your browser in a way you won't even know.

Here is one message I got this morning trying to sell me viagra. You can't see the text very easy unless you are alert since they changed the text to a pale yellow color that does not show up well. But if you "show source" and pull out hte html its easy to see.

</BODY></HTML>

Definatley some words in there that are related to group sof people, presidents, pesticides, etc. Not even encoded per say.

They use gibberish to bypass filter systems like Spamassassin, they even use it to test out their own spam on (in other words were f#cking f#cked half the time).

They will place a bunch of + scoring words, to raise the score up from - (spam).

ok, so that is further explanation. these scores are like the +/- scores for hockey players. some words are assigned a positive value whereas others are assigned a negative value. is there a scale of say 1- 10 or is it simply a +1 and a -1? so those hidden positive words bump up the overall assessment of the email. so much so that the entire email is judged to be non-spam. it hasn't worked yet as they all go into my junk mail filter. but they are honing their skills in the meantime. I will say that i find this strategy interesting.
