Well as far as I can see the biceps wouldn't have much use in a fight (other than a strong choke hold or something like that...). But just because you get stronger doesn't mean you need to get slower. If you get bigger, that could occur, but if you train for strength, size will come secondarily and it shouldn't affect you that much. As long as you also train for speed along with your strength, I think your speed would increase rather than decrease. My strength has increased tremendously in the past few months, but I've also gotten faster, so you could do it too.
